Assistant Manager Indirect Taxation

Location: Churchgate, Mumbai

Mafatlal Industries Limited is seeking a Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) with 35 years of post-qualification experience, primarily in Indirect Taxation (GST), to join our Finance team. The role demands strong technical expertise in GST laws, hands-on compliance experience, and the ability to manage tax audits and departmental matters effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

Indirect Taxation GST (Primary Responsibility)

• Handling end-to-end GST compliance including registrations, return filings (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, Annual Returns), and reconciliations
• Managing GST assessments, departmental audits, and proceedings
• Drafting replies to GST notices and handling departmental queries independently
• Coordinating and representing before GST authorities, including personal visits to GST departments when required
• Ensuring timely compliance and proper documentation

Direct Taxation (Exposure Mandatory)

• Working knowledge and understanding of Direct Tax provisions
• Exposure to Income Tax compliance and TDS matters
• Coordination for handling income tax notices, if required

Statutory Audit (Support Role)

• Providing assistance and data support during statutory audits on a need basis
• Not a direct responsibility but required to coordinate and support when necessary

Candidate Profile:

• Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA)
• 56 years of relevant experience with strong GST expertise
• Strong drafting and representation skills
• Ability to independently handle GST compliance and departmental interactions
• Good analytical, coordination, and communication skills
