Job description:
Azista is seeking an experienced Systems Architect of Spacecraft Systems Design to lead our innovative spacecraft design team. In this role, you will drive the technical strategy from concept to in-orbit operations, guiding a multidisciplinary team in delivering robust, integrated, and scalable spacecraft systems. You will work closely with subsystem leads, project managers, and external partners to balance mission requirements, perform system-level analyses, and manage design trade-offs for high-performance outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Leadership:
- Define overall spacecraft system architecture and set technical strategy.
- Lead trade-off studies and interface analyses to optimize mass, power, and data budgets.
Design & Integration:
- Oversee development of system-level documentation (CONOPS, V&V plans, Test Plans).
- Manage integration of critical subsystems (power, communication, avionics) using tools.
Testing & Support:
- Direct Assembly, Integration, and Testing (AIT), including HIL/SIL simulations.
- Provide leadership during launch support and in-orbit commissioning.
Documentation & Stakeholder Engagement:
- Author and maintain key technical documents (ICDs, design compliance reports).
- Present findings and design recommendations to internal and external stakeholders.
Team & Project Management:
- Mentor engineering teams and contribute to proposal development and bid support.
Essential Qualifications:
- Minimum 8 years of satellite system engineering experience with managerial responsibility.
- Proven expertise in spacecraft design, integration, and subsystem management.
- Proficiency in system modelling, simulation, and requirements/configuration management.
- Ability to adapt quickly to ever-changing requirements of customer.
- Strong understanding of FMECA/FMEA, FDIR principles, environmental tests, and AIT processes.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Fluent in English; proficiency in local languages is a plus.
