As a System Engineer - Auxiliary Systems, you will be responsible for executing and Leading requisition engineering associated with system design of gas turbine and centrifugal compressor auxiliaries which includes development of Piping and Instrumentation diagram integrating with cross functional disciplines (Instrumentation, Electrical, Controls and Software & Mechanical), sizing of control valves and safety valves, engineering of balance of plant skids & participation in customer design reviews and HAZOP.
As a System Engineer, you will be responsible for:
- The role of System Engineer-1 involves overseeing requisition engineering for Gas Turbine and centrifugal compressor auxiliaries design, including sizing calculations, BOP selections, preliminary panel layout preparations, and participation in various design reviews and technical alignments.
- The primary responsibilities include ensuring timely delivery, productivity, and quality. The engineer will learn and gradually lead activities such as HAZOP, P&ID development, and Alarm rationalization. They will thoroughly review customer specifications to understand critical project requirements and derive necessary design elements for various auxiliaries.
- Collaboration with internal engineering departments and external suppliers is essential for executing BOP selections and end-to-end design. Detailed reviews of engineering drawings and documents from suppliers are required, along with performing calculations for sizing control valves, safety valves, lines, on-off valves, filters, orifices, instruments, and seal systems. Familiarity with API standards for Gas Turbines, Lube oil systems, and centrifugal compressors is advantageous. The engineer will also perform simulations using applications like Hysys and Flowmaster, address material supplier queries during technical alignment, and work with the sourcing team to ensure timely placement of purchase orders. Developing HAZOP procedures to mitigate risks, addressing team queries for 3D model seal gas panel layout, and ensuring smooth assembly processes are part of the role.
- The engineer will work with material suppliers to ensure final delivery within deadlines, participate in design reviews, support the ITO/application team for seal system design, lead standardization of existing designs, provide timely project updates, and apply cross-functional learnings to develop competencies. Proper documentation of technical data, proposing innovative solutions for cost productivity, participating in organizational initiatives, and embracing digital culture to upgrade engineering tools are also key responsibilities.
Fuel your Passion
- The job requires a Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. in Chemical/Mechanical Engineering, with 3-6 years of experience in requisition projects as a design engineer in auxiliary systems.
- Desired characteristics include a willingness to train, technical background in turbomachinery auxiliaries, awareness of quality control systems, proactive approach, and good understanding of fluid dynamics and heat transfer.
Hands-on experience with Hysys, Flowmaster, and CFD, as well as exposure to product lifecycle management tools like Siemens Teamcenter, is advantageous.
