System Engineer (Backup, Monitoring & OS Administration)

Location: Chennai/Hyderabad

Mode: 5 days work from office (NO HYBRID)

Shift: 24*7 Rotational

We are seeking an experienced System Engineer with 7+ years of experience in Backup Administration, Monitoring, and Operating System management (Windows, Linux, or Unix). The role focuses on maintaining highly available systems, managing backup environments, and ensuring infrastructure reliability.

Key Responsibilities

Operating System Administration

• Install, configure, and manage Windows, Linux, or Unix servers.
• Apply OS patches, updates, and security hardening.
• Manage system services, storage, and user administration.
• Troubleshoot system-level performance and availability issues.

Backup & Recovery

• Manage daily backup operations using enterprise tools such as:
• Cohesity , Veeam , Commvault , Veritas NetBackup , Rubrik , or similar.
• Monitor and troubleshoot failed backup jobs.
• Perform restores, data recovery, and DR test activities.
• Ensure adherence to retention policies, RTO/RPO requirements, and compliance.

Monitoring & Performance Management

• Configure and administer monitoring platforms like Nagios, Zabbix, SolarWinds, Prometheus, Dynatrace , etc.
• Set up alerts, dashboards, and regular reporting.
• Analyze system metrics and proactively address performance issues.

Required Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience as a System Engineer or Infrastructure Administrator.
• Strong hands-on knowledge of Windows/Linux/Unix administration.
• Experience with at least one enterprise backup tool (Cohesity, Veeam, Commvault, NetBackup, etc.).
• Hands-on experience with monitoring solutions (Nagios, Zabbix, SolarWinds, Prometheus, Dynatrace , etc.)
• Working knowledge of virtualization platforms (VMware/Hyper-V).
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
