Job Description
We are seeking a motivated System Administrator (GCP) with 24 years of experience to manage and optimize our Google Cloud-based infrastructure. The role involves hands-on system administration, cloud operations, and a strong focus on automation, monitoring, and security. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a solid Linux sysadmin foundation who wants to deepen their expertise in GCP and modern cloud operations .
Role & Responsibilities
Manage and support Linux systems hosted on Google Cloud (Compute Engine, GKE, etc.).
Administer core GCP services: Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, IAM, VPC, Cloud SQL, and Cloud Monitoring.
Configure and monitor networking components VPCs, subnets, firewall rules, routes, VPN, and Cloud Load Balancers.
Manage IAM roles, service accounts, and policies to enforce least-privilege access.
Implement and maintain backups, patch management, and system monitoring.
Use Cloud Monitoring, Cloud Logging, and Cloud Trace for performance insights and troubleshooting.
Write basic automation or maintenance scripts using Bash, Python, or gcloud CLI.
Support CI/CD workflows with tools like Cloud Build, Jenkins, or GitLab CI.
Assist with cost optimization and resource utilization monitoring using Billing Reports and Recommender APIs.
Collaborate with senior engineers to enhance reliability, observability, and scalability.

24 years of experience in System Administration (Linux) .
Hands-on experience with Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, IAM, VPC, and Cloud SQL .
Understanding of networking concepts (DNS, TCP/IP, firewalls, load balancing).
Basic scripting proficiency in Bash or Python .
Experience using gcloud CLI and Google Cloud Console for daily operations.
Familiarity with monitoring and alerting using Cloud Monitoring / Cloud Logging.
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
Preferred Skills
Familiarity with Kubernetes (GKE) and containerized workloads.
Exposure to CI/CD tools (Cloud Build, Jenkins, GitLab CI).
Knowledge of GCP security and compliance tools (Cloud Audit Logs, Security Command Center, KMS).
GCP certification preferred e.g. Associate Cloud Engineer or Professional Cloud SysOps Administrator.
