Job Description

Role - Supplier Quality Engineer

Report to Manager

Essential Job Responsibilities:

Audit and Evaluation

  • Understand Quality requirements by commodity. - Evaluate the approval process for suppliers, following established guidelines. - Qualify suppliers based on company standards (e.g., onsite audits and incoming raw materials). - Create audit manage supplier audit activities. - Support sourcing on capacity analysis. - Define, communicate and audit security requirements. - Run capability analysis.

Issue Management

  • Conduct root cause analysis. - Lead issue to resolution cycles. - Define and monitor corrective and preventative action. - Support cost recovery coming from issues management/ correct actions (in partnership with Sourcing).Supplier Relationship Management
  • Communicate with suppliers. - Monitor and evaluate supplier performance. - Guide and encourage partnership between suppliers and engineering. - Improve projects with suppliers - liaise and align with Sourcing and Product Quality throughout the supplier management lifecycle.

Within Rockwell

  • Contribute to engineering plans (drawings). - Collaborate with design and test teams for early risk mitigation. - Agree on supplier quality metrics & feedback on quality. - SQA to plant representatives (ongoing support and advice to the plan). - SQA to NPI team (ongoing support for the project introductions).

Analytics and Data Management

  • Define supplier quality Measurements. - Conduct data-driven quality assurance planning. - Conduct best practices benchmarking. - Leverage predictive insights and translate them into action. - Identify opportunities to use data to improve.

Risk and Compliance

  • Identify supplier-related risks. - Define process controls. - Participate in the Part Qualification Process. - Interpret and align with relevant regulation..

Basic Qualifications/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Electrical engineering or related field; Master's degree.
  • 8 years of experience in Supplier Quality Engineering or a related role, focusing on Electronics and electrical commodities such as Integrated Circuits, PCBs, Cable Assemblies, transformers, Active and Passive components, Packaging.
  • Experience working with SAP and ERP systems. Working Experience in the Manufacturing Environment for 5 years
  • Experience with quality management principles, tools, and methodologies (e.g., APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC).
  • , with the ability to collaborate across teams and with external suppliers.
  • Green or Black Belt certified. Certification in Quality Management (e.g., ASQ Certified Quality Engineer).
