About the Team and the Role

The Supply Chain Operations team at Ather is responsible for designing and executing sourcing strategies for built-to-spec commodities, ensuring robust supplier selection, and managing end-to-end supply chain risks. The team focuses on cost optimization through should-cost modeling, capacity planning, and maintaining high-quality standards through rigorous audits and process validation.

This role is for a Supplier Manager - Private Charging Infra who will lead the sourcing and development for electrical & electronic components. You will be responsible for identifying potential suppliers, negotiating contracts, and managing supplier performance to meet program cost, quality, and timeline targets.

Responsibilities

• Manage procurement and supply for PCBA, Harness, Magnetics, and Box Build assemblies.

• Conduct BOM analysis and secure components while overseeing PFC, Control Plans, and PFMEA at vendor sites.

• Supervise SMT, soldering, coating, and potting processes along with ICT, FCT, and Burn-in testing.

• Execute NPI projects and manage supplier resource planning (3M’s) to meet prototype targets.

• Negotiate NRE costs for stencils, jigs, and fixtures and resolve technical queries during PCB procurement.

• Perform DFM/DFA feasibility checks and Gerber reviews for electrical and electronic assemblies.

• Drive supplier selection, qualification, and audits while securing contracts for cost, quality, and delivery.

• Collaborate with Engineering and Finance to analyze should-cost reports and bridge pricing gaps.

Experience and Qualifications

• B.E in Electrical / Electronics / ECE, Industrial engineering, or Mechanical engineering.

• 5-8 years of hands-on experience in sourcing electrical/electronic parts, PCBA, and sub-assemblies.

Must Have Competencies

• Strategic sourcing management including scouting, selecting, securing, and supplier relationship management (4S).

• Expertise in Electronic Manufacturing Services (EMS) activities, harness building, and box build assemblies.

• Technical proficiency in PCBA manufacturing processes, including SMT, wave soldering, and functional testing.

• Commercial acumen in Zero-based costing, spend analysis, and negotiation of Incoterms and SLAs.

Good to Have Competencies

• Application of SPC tools and process validation techniques for yield calculation and capability assessment.

• Technical review of Gerber files and checkplot verification for PCB development.

• Understanding of IPC, JEDEC, and Automotive Standards for electronic assembly compliance.

• Implementation of DFM and DFA feasibility checks according to supplier capability matrices.
