Role: Lead Supplier Manager - PCBA
Location: Corporate Office, Bangalore (IBC Knowledge Park)
Reporting to: Module Lead & Supplier Manager Lead - Actives - Electronics Components & Assembly

About the Team and the Role
The E&E Supply Chain team at Ather is responsible for designing and executing sourcing strategies for electronic components and manufacturing services, ensuring cost competitiveness, and mitigating supply risks across the value chain. This team manages the end-to-end lifecycle of PCBA and EMS categories, from initial development and cost benchmarking to inventory liquidation and capacity alignment.
This role is for a Supplier Manager - PCBA who will drive strategic sourcing, manage EMS partner relationships, and ensure the seamless availability of components. You will be responsible for meeting stringent cost, quality, and timeline targets while collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement engineering changes and optimize the overall supply chain performance.
Responsibilities
Design and execute short and long-term sourcing strategies for electronic components and EMS.
Establish cost structures for EMS categories and ensure cost competitiveness through industry benchmarking.
Identify cost-down opportunities and drive implementation to meet program cost and timeline targets.
Manage Excess and Obsolete (E&O) inventory and execute strategies to liquidate surplus stock.
Ensure component availability at EMS partners and mitigate supply chain risks by tracking capacity.
Track price fluctuations and execute strategies to reduce Purchase Price Variance (PPV) impact.
Manage Engineering Change Notifications (ECN), including price revisions and obsolete management at the supplier end.
Collaborate with finance and engineering to bridge should-cost gaps and drive supplier performance improvements.
Experience and Qualifications
Bachelor or Master in Engineering (Electronics or Electrical preferred).
8-12 years of experience in Module Lead, Strategic Sourcing, or Commodity Management within the Automotive, EMS, or Electronics domain.
Must Have Competencies
Strategic sourcing and commodity management for electronic manufacturing services and components.
Cost structure establishment including NRE cost, Part Cost, and lead time modeling for EMS categories.
Supply chain risk assessment and mitigation across the value chain to align with business plans.
Implementation of Engineering Change Notifications (ECN) and management of obsolete inventory.
Good to Have Competencies
Execution of market intelligence research to monitor industry trends and component lead times.
Application of analytical skills to conduct primary and secondary research for category benchmarking.
Management of should-cost report analysis and identifying levers for gap closure in quotes.
Development of frameworks for negotiation and commodity strategy operational excellence.
