About the Role:

GoodReturns - Tamil (Oneindia ) is looking for a talented and detail-oriented Sub Editor with strong experience in business, finance, markets, economy, and personal finance content . The ideal candidate should have a solid understanding of the Tamil language and the ability to produce accurate, engaging, and timely business news.

Location: Bengaluru/Chennai.

Key Responsibilities:

• Write, edit, proofread, and publish business & finance news in Tamil.
• Cover areas such as stock markets, gold/silver rates, economy, personal finance, banking, taxation, government schemes, and corporate news .
• Ensure accuracy, clarity, grammar, and fact-checking of all published content.
• Rewrite and update stories based on breaking financial news and market movements.
• Work closely with the editorial team to maintain speed, quality, and credibility.
• Monitor economic indicators, financial trends, RBI announcements, budgets, and major market events.
• Optimise content for SEO and digital publishing formats.
• Maintain consistency in tone and editorial style guidelines.

Requirements:

• 26 years of experience in Tamil news writing/editing , preferably in business or financial journalism.
• Strong command of written Tamil and news writing style.
• Ability to simplify financial concepts for a general audience.
• Familiarity with online publishing tools and CMS.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced digital newsroom with tight deadlines.
• Knowledge of financial markets and economic affairs is a must .
