Hiring: Studio Director Architecture & Design

Location: Mumbai/Bangalore

We are looking for a Studio Director to lead a high-performing architecture and design team, driving business growth, design excellence, and project delivery across large-scale commercial, residential, and mixed-use developments.

This is a senior leadership role for someone who combines design thinking, business acumen, and team leadership, with the ability to build client relationships and scale a practice.

Role Overview

As Studio Director, you will be responsible for the overall performance of the studio, including projects, people, and profitability. You will act as a strategic leader, client advisor, and team mentor, ensuring high-quality delivery while expanding the studios market presence.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Studio Management

• Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the studio
• Drive a strong design culture, collaboration, and team engagement
• Mentor, coach, and develop high-performing teams
• Build a culture of ownership, creativity, and accountability

Business Development & Client Engagement

• Drive new business development and client acquisition
• Build and maintain long-term client relationships
• Lead proposals, pitches, and strategic discussions
• Position the studio strongly in the market through networking and industry presence

Project & Design Oversight

• Provide leadership across design, delivery, and execution
• Review concept design, technical development, and documentation quality
• Ensure alignment between design intent, commercial goals, and timelines
• Oversee multiple projects and ensure client satisfaction

Financial & Operational Management

• Own studio P&L, budgeting, and profitability targets
• Monitor utilization, billing, and financial performance
• Ensure efficient resource planning and project staffing
• Maintain strong control over project delivery and cost management

What Were Looking For

• 15+ years of experience in architecture/design
• Proven leadership experience as a Studio Lead / Design Director / Principal
• Strong background in commercial, residential, or mixed-use projects
• Demonstrated success in business development and client management
• Experience managing large teams, multiple projects, and studio operations
• Strong understanding of project delivery, contracts, and financial management
• Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills
