Job Description
The Student Counselor will support the emotional well being academic adjustment and personal development of students. The role focuses on providing professional counseling psychological guidance and preventive mental health support to help students manage academic pressure personal concerns and behavioral challenges.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide individual counseling sessions to students facing emotional academic or personal difficulties.
- Offer psychological support to help students manage stress anxiety peer pressure and adjustment issues.
- Conduct basic psychological assessments and identify students who may require additional professional help.
- Guide students on personal development decision making and goal setting.
- Work closely with faculty mentors parents and administration to support student welfare when required.
- Organize workshops and awareness programs on mental health stress management and emotional resilience.
- Maintain confidential records of counseling sessions and student progress.
- Refer students to external clinical psychologists or mental health professionals when advanced intervention is required.
- Monitor student well being and contribute to creating a positive supportive campus environment.
Minimum Qualification
Masters Degree in Psychology Counseling Psychology or Clinical Psychology from a recognized university.
Preferred Qualifications
Training or certification in student counseling or psychotherapy or NLP
Experience working with adolescents or college students
Experience
1 to 3 years of experience in counseling students in educational institutions is preferred. Fresh postgraduates with strong counseling skills may also be considered.
