Position:Student Counsellor

Location:Pragyanam School,Sector 65, Gurugram

Reporting to:Principal

About the Role

The Student Counsellor at Pragyanam School will play a key role in supporting students' social, emotional, academic, and career development. The counsellor will create a safe, supportive environment where students can seek guidance, receive counselling, and be empowered to achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:-

  • You will be responsible for conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, and providing ongoing support and guidance to clients.
  • Conduct assessments to identify client issues and develop treatment plans
  • Provide individual and group counselling sessions to address students' emotional and social needs, ensuring a safe space for expression.
  • Develop and implement programs that promote mental health awareness and resilience among students, aligning with the school's mission.
  • Collaborate with educators to identify students in need of support and create tailored intervention plans that enhance their learning experience.
  • Conduct assessments to evaluate students' needs and progress, using data to inform counselling strategies and interventions.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of counselling sessions, interventions, and student progress. Ensure compliance with school policies on confidentiality and data protection.
  • Develop and implement a counselling program calendar for the school year planning workshops, awareness campaigns, group sessions, and preventive initiatives related to student well-being.


Qualification and Skills:-

Masters degree in Psychology, Counselling, Child Development, or a relevant field.

Prior experience (preferably 23 years) as a counsellor in a school or educational setting an advantage if familiar with school-age developmental issues.

Strong interpersonal, communication, and active-listening skills. Ability to build rapport with students, parents, and staff.

  • Awareness of child-protection policies, mental health issues, and contemporary counselling practices is preferred.
