What is the Structured Credit Liquidity Management Lead responsible for?
Alcentra are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented liquidity management/treasury specialist to become the key SME for a dynamic and high-profile Investment team. As the Structured Credit Liquidity Management Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing and validating all operational aspects of cash management for Alcentra Structured Credit funds. The ideal candidate should possess a strong background in the management of cash and foreign exchange requirements for a range of alternative credit funds #MID_SENIOR_LEVEL
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Cash Management/Forecasting
Manage the validation of overnight cash balances and movements ensuring the accuracy of start of day cash for the Investment team
Oversight and development of cash forecasting models and tools to ensure effective liquidity management and efficient utilization of cash
Collaboration with multiple internal teams such as Fund Finance, Trade Operations and Investor Relations, to ensure upcoming flows are recorded as required
Work side by side with the Investment team to support queries related to fund cash levels and provide ongoing analysis around fund liquidity
Ensure accurate daily reconciliation of cash and position breaks, investigating and resolving any discrepancies in a timely manner through collaboration with internal and external stakeholders
Oversight of our back-office teams to ensure timely booking of transactions and upward recording in our OMS and cash reports
Understanding and utilization of multiple cash management and financing mechanisms, such as repo, subscription lines, LP drawings and FX
Own the onboarding of new funds onto the platform, understanding the intricacies of how the fund should be managed
SOD to EOD coverage to global team
Process and System Improvement
Continuously drive process improvements by owning the design and implementation of key changes with a vision of operational efficiency and excellence
Assist with technology development for future automation of cash management
Create and own operational procedures and ensure the presence of a strong internal control framework in line with the evolving business environment.
Manage onboarding and relationship of future external vendors
What ideal qualifications, skills & experience would help someone to be successful?
The successful candidate will ideally possess:
Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration or a related field. Advanced degree (MBA, CFA) a plus.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in liquidity management, treasury, fund accounting, or related roles within the asset management industry (with a particular focus on alternative credit funds)
Proficiency in using fund treasury / accounting systems, reconciliation tools and other relevant software
Excellent attention to detail and ability to analyse complex data sets accurately
Excellent excel skills (coding skills a plus).
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve operational issues.
Responsiveness and being readily available to support urgent queries is critical
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with internal teams and external service providers
Dynamic and proactive mindset with a continuous improvement focus, staying updated on industry best practices and emerging technologies.
Experience in Structured Credit funds and asset classes considered beneficial
FX experience in a treasury environment considered beneficial
Work Shift Timings - 2:00 PM - 11:00 PM IST
