Structural Design Engineer

Role Title:

Assistant Manager / Manager - Structural Design

Responsible for designing various structural members, delivery of drawings and documentation of designs & drawings.

Areas of Accountability:

1. Structural Analysis and Design:

• Responsible for performing structural analyses and calculations to determine the most efficient and safe designs for various structures.

1. Blueprint Interpretation:

• Correct interpretation of architectural & engineering drawings and incorporation of the same in structural drawings with respect to project specifications, dimensions, and any unique design features.

1. Code Compliance:

• Ensuring that structural designs comply with local, national, and international building codes and standards.

1. Design Software Proficiency:

• Accurate modelling of structures in design software like ETABS, STAAD Pro & SAFE.

1. Project Coordination:

• Correct documentation of all the points discussed with all the stake holders, incorporation of the same and address any design conflicts or issues.

1. Schedule Adherence:

• Ensuring that the drawings are released on schedule.

1. Site Inspections:

• Carrying out regular site inspections and notify any deviations with respect to GFC drawings or issues that may compromise structural integrity.

1. Documentation:

• Regular documentation of design calculations, revisions, and drawings.

1. Team Management :

• Coordinating, leading, and supporting the team to achieve common goals effectively and efficiently. It involves balancing leadership, communication, motivation, and organization to ensure the team works well together.

1. Checking :

• Checking the works done by the team mates and supervising their works timely.

Deliverables:

1. Structural Design Basis Reports:

• These reports shall include load calculations, compliance with building codes, stress & deformation analyses, and other technical assessments details.

1. Structural Design Drawings:

• Create detailed engineering drawings and plans that illustrate the design, dimensions, materials, and specifications of the structure.

1. Construction Support:

• Respond to site queries within the stipulated time, attend construction meetings, and ensure that the design is implemented correctly.

1. As-Built Drawings:

• After the construction is complete, as-built drawings shall be prepared.

Skills and Qualifications :

• BE Civil and MTech Structural Engineers
• 2+yrs of relevant experience in Structural Designing
• Working experience in E Tabs and Staad Pro
• Analysis and Reporting
• Stakeholder Coordination
