STRUCTURAL DESIGN ENGINEER US PROJECTS (WOOD STEEL | WOOD | LGS | CMU)

1. POSITION OVERVIEW

Struct 360 is seeking a highly skilled Structural Design Engineer with hands-on experience in US building design, specifically STEEL | WOOD | LGS | CMU structures integrated with BIM. The role requires strong structural judgment, independent analytical thinking, and the ability to deliver high-quality engineering packages aligned with US codes and client expectations. This position supports residential, commercial, and hybrid projects across North America.

Our team delivers structural design, BIM modeling, coordination, and complete engineering packages. We specialize in wood framing, drywall/LGS, steelconcrete hybrid structures, and BIM-integrated workflows.

3. ROLE PURPOSE

To independently design and deliver structural systems for US medium-scale buildings, using US codes and tools (RISA, Enercalc, Mathcad, Excel, Revit), while coordinating BIM/drafting deliverables and owning full project cycles.

5. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

A. Structural Design & Analysis

Perform analysis and design for wood, steel, concrete, and LGS systems.

Determine load paths, calculate design loads as per US codes (IBC, ASCE 7, NDS, ACI, AISC).

Prepare full calculation packages using RISA, Enercalc, Mathcad, and Excel.

Optimize design for cost, constructability, and safety.

B. BIM / CAD Coordination & Markups

Translate architectural drawings into structural concepts and markups.

Provide accurate markups for Revit/AutoCAD/Tekla teams.

Review BIM models for correctness and coordination.

Participate in clash detection and design meetings.

C. Project Delivery & Client Coordination

Manage multiple projects with structured prioritization.

Prepare design notes, risk logs, issue registers.

Clarify RFIs and attend US client calls as needed.

Ensure alignment with deliverable formats and project standards.

D. Quality, Innovation & Improvement

Follow QA/QC workflows for design and drawings.

Contribute to design libraries, templates, typical details.

Support automation and improved structural workflows.

E. Collaboration & Mentoring

Engage with BIM Modelers, CAD Technicians, and Leads.

Mentor juniors on US structural design practices.

Education:

Preferred: Masters in Structural Engineering (ME/MTech/MS)

Acceptable: BE/BTech Civil with 3+ years US project experience

Experience:

Total: 45 years structural engineering

Relevant: 3+ years in US building design (wood, LGS, drywall, hybrid)

7. TECHNICAL SKILLS

Design Tools : RISA, Enercalc, Mathcad, Excel

BIM Tools : Revit (mandatory), AutoCAD (mandatory), Tekla (preferred)

Codes : IBC, ASCE 7, AWC NDS, ACI 318, AISC, AISI S100

Other : Strong load path understanding, structural review capabilities
