Job Description

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
8 years of experience in software development.
5 years of experience with Machine Learning (ML) design and ML infrastructure (e.g., model deployment, model evaluation, data processing, debugging, fine tuning).
Experience in working with Unix/Linux environments, distributed and parallel systems, networking, architecting software systems.

Preferred qualifications:

Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
3 years of experience in a technical leadership role with leading project teams and setting technical direction.
Experience in Artificial Intelligence (AI) concepts and in building AI applications.
Experience with Large Language Models (LLMs), including fine-tuning, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and agent-based systems.
Experience with the end-to-end lifecycle of AI-powered applications, from data ingestion to model serving and monitoring.

Responsibilities

Be responsible for leading a team into building the next generation of Grounding on Web Search and unblock customers need to onboard on Vertex platforms.
Work on designing, implementing, and maintaining critical systems that run the stack and advance its capabilities to scale to the customers needs.
Build algorithms to improve Large Language Model (LLMs) and improve Search ranking.
Improve model qualities to better serve grounded results. Build and train specialized models to improve quality of grounding stack.
