Job Title: Staff Platform Engineer
Location: Bangalore-Manyata Tech Park

Business & Team: The Network Engineering team is responsible for delivering network requirements and implementation to achieve business outcomes. The CTO Networks team is responsible delivering, supporting and continuously improving the Bank’s Global Network and Security services.

We also use technology to drive efficient and timely processing, an essential component of great customer service.

The purpose of this role is to provide sound input and engineering design, implementation and support in order to drive excellence, quality and performance for an IT service, across one or multiple portfolios. The Staff Platform Engineer (Network) is required to effectively build and maintain relationships with: Senior managers, Solution Designers, Network and System Engineers, Project Delivery teams and third-party vendors that provide technology services for the group.

Roles & responsibilities:

  • Support the development of the roadmap, strategy and design for the products and services within your squad
  • Provide engineering leadership for other engineers and team members
  • Contribute to the strategy, roadmap and architecture across all Network services
  • Identify and remediate risks and issues within your portfolio of Network services
  • Execute and support the Global Technology Services business unit with design, engineering and implementation of network security, to provide business value across multiple programmes and initiatives.
  • Identify and mitigate issues or risks associated with the network security design or solution proposals
  • Provide technical consulting and advice to projects to ensure alignment to Cyber Security, Network Architecture, and operational stability of CBA’s network assets.
  • Champion engineering principles, patterns, standards and guidelines across projects and programmes
  • Support transitioning target architecture from current to desired state
  • Provide feedback on effectiveness of target solution architecture
  • Work within a team environment and across business units to complete associated tasks
  • Identify and develop plans for emerging Technology that may benefit the Group’s strategic direction
  • Manage and evaluate overall network performance, reliability and scalability; troubleshooting and resolving network and security problems.

Essential skills:

  • Minimum of 14 years experiences within IT Network.
  • Design, Architecture and Critical implementation/Migration exposure on Routing, Switching, NEXUS, VXLAN, VPC, OSPF, BGP, FW.
  • 5 plus experience in Automation or DevOps
  • Mandatory knowledge and demonstrated experience of Cisco Switches (Nexus and IOS), Routers and Firewalls.
  • Mandatory knowledge and demonstrated understanding and design of core switching and routing technologies such as VXLAN EVPN, Data Centre (DC) Technologies, IPSec VPN, BGP, OSPF And STP, MST, VPC, NAT.
  • Desirable experience in F5 GTM, LTM, and Azure/AWS network security group enforcement policies and firewall management.
  • Minimum 6 years of design or architecture experience
  • Design or architecture experience
  • Specialized knowledge of development and design methodologies
  • Hands-on experience in DevOps, Ci-CD pipelines and network automation, with expertise in scripting languages such as Python, Ansible or PowerShell

Education Qualification: Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in Engineering in Computer Science/Information Technology.
