Sr UAV Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a Senior UAV Engineer with advanced expertise in drone systems development and integration. The ideal candidate will play a key role in designing, developing, testing, and deploying cutting-edge UAV technologies, while also mentoring junior engineers and contributing to strategic technical decisions. This position requires a deep understanding of UAV dynamics, flight control systems, and autonomous mission planning. You will work cross-functionally with software developers, mechanical engineers, and project teams to drive innovation and ensure the success of UAV-related projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the design, prototyping, and testing of custom multirotor UAVs / fixed-wing systems.
• Perform advanced modeling and simulations of UAV dynamics and flight stability.
• Integrate and configure flight control systems such as Pixhawk and FPV or any other fight controllers.
• Guide UAV system integration, including avionics, telemetry, payloads, sensors, and communication systems.
• Conduct autonomous flight planning using QGroundControl, Mission Planner, or other GCS platforms.
• Execute field testing, performance evaluation, and troubleshooting of UAVs in various conditions.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team development and training.
• Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to define requirements and optimize UAV performance.
• Maintain detailed documentation, including design specs, testing logs, flight data, and performance reports.
• Stay current with UAV industry trends and integrate emerging technologies as applicable.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Aerospace Engineering, Robotics, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in UAV design, development, and field testing.
• Extensive experience with Pixhawk, FPV and other flight controller platforms.
• Proven expertise in autonomous and manual UAV piloting.
• Strong background in UAV systems integration, including power management, RF communications, IMUs, GPS, and sensor fusion.
• Proficiency in using GCS tools such as QGroundControl, Mission Planner, and companion computer integration.
• Excellent leadership, project management, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of complex engineering challenges.
