Sr. Sourcing Engineer

Virbhu India Pvt Ltd Vadodara (Gujarat), a wholly owned subsidiary of AK-LLC (USA), operating in the field of power electronics, has as an immediate opening for a Sr. Sourcing Engineer.

This role is critical within the organization and is responsible for managing both local and import sourcing and procurement of electrical and electronic components, power electronics parts, and industrial consumables. Ensures the availability of technically compliant, high-quality materials at optimal cost to support new product development, EV charging and renewable energy projects, and ongoing manufacturing operations. The role focuses on supplier identification, evaluation, and development, building strong long-term supplier relationships while driving procurement efficiency, cost optimization, and supply chain reliability to meet project and production

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with the organization's goals and objectives.
• Analyze market trends, supplier capabilities, and product innovations to make informed purchasing decisions.
• Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to secure favorable terms, pricing, and contractual agreements.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, fostering collaboration and ensuring reliable sources of supply.
• Monitor and control procurement costs to optimize the company's budget and profitability.
• Implement cost-saving initiatives, such as bulk purchasing, vendor consolidation, or alternative sourcing.
• Ensure materials meet technical specifications, quality standards, and compliance requirements
• Coordinate with engineering, maintenance, production, and stores teams to understand material requirements
• Manage and optimize inventory levels to prevent overstock or shortages.
• Need to follow up with supplier to get material as per project timeline
• Encourage a culture of continuous improvement and professionalism within the procurement department.
• Stay up to date with legal and ethical regulations related to procurement, including environmental and social responsibility considerations.
• Ensure all procurement activities adhere to relevant laws and guidelines.
• Raise Purchase Orders (POs) and ensure timely follow-up for on-time delivery
• Strong communication and coordination skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electronics/ Mechanical
• 5-10 experience in supply chain, procurement, preferred from electronic background
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Expert in ERP/Tally with procurement software tools.
• Knowledge of industry- specific regulations and compliance requirements.
• This role demands a combination of strategic thinking, strong interpersonal skills, and a deep understanding of supply chain dynamics to effectively manage the procurement function.
