Primary Responsibilities

·       Independently design, carry out feasibility study and develop API automation frameworks (from scratch) and write detailed test cases for a variety of products on Mobile and Web

·       Working on API automation testing using Open source tools and able to establish an automation framework which decreases manual test effort

·       Create, review and update API automation test cases created for product functionalities

·       Create and update regression test suites for API Testing

·       Perform root cause analysis for issues found in the system

·       Effectively communicate issues to the team and help in quick resolution of the same

·       Ensure that the product under test meets both functional and business requirements

·       Contribute to and improve existing quality process

·       Test the system functionalities to ensure delivery of functionally correct product

·       Understand the technical architecture of the product and feature implementation

·       Report and manage bugs in Bug Tracking System like JIRA/Bugzilla

·       Provide support for prod deployments and issue triaging as per the schedule (including weekends occasionally)

·       Work closely with product, development and testing team to study product requirements and define test scope

Secondary Responsibilities

·       Demonstration of leadership and planning through proactive behavior and independent problem solving

·       Demonstrate strong collaboration with other test team members and development team members in order to meet goals

Must Have:

·       Proficient in Rest assured and Java

What will you need to be successful in this role?

·       Relevant work Experience in Automation testing with strong background of API Testing

·       Proven experience in API test automation using – Rest Assured

·       Expert level proficiency in at-least 1 of the API testing tools (Postman/Newman/SoapUI) 

·       Strong knowledge of Java, Data structures, OOPS concepts and its applications

·       Understanding of Web Technologies like HTTP, REST etc

·       Good knowledge of Linux

·       Good knowledge of SQL or any NoSql DBMS like MongoDB, AeroSpike

·       Knowledge in server-side debugging for RCA of bugs

·       Conceptual understanding of Client Server Architecture

·       Experience in Performance/load testing with tools like Jmeter is a bonus

·       Proactive, strong minded, quick thinker and assertive

·       Experience in Version control tools like Git and CI tools like Jenkins are required

·       Exposure to DevOps is a huge plus
