IIDM ( is a leading research-based consulting, training, and Communication for Development (C4D) organization. We collaborate with government departments at both state and central levels, as well as prominent international development agencies, including the World Bank, UNICEF, UNFPA, World Food Programme, USAID, and bilateral donors such as DANIDA etc.
We also partner with international NGOs and foundations including Oxfam, Clinton Health Access Initiative, Save the Children, Aga Khan Foundation, Heifer International, CARE, PATH, and others working across India's development landscape.
Our multidisciplinary team includes experts holding degrees from Ivy League universities, IITs, and other internationally recognized institutions. This diverse expertise enables us to deliver high-quality research and strategic advisory services across multiple sectors including education, public health, livelihoods, WASH, livestock development, agriculture, public policy and governance, women and child development, and nutrition.
Position OverviewWe are seeking dynamic research professionals and consultants to join our growing team in roles spanning monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) across India's development sector. These positions offer the opportunity to work on high-impact projects that shape policy and improve outcomes in education, public health, agriculture, and governance.
What You'll DoAs a Research Manager or Senior Research Manager, you will lead and contribute to complex research initiatives, from designing evaluation frameworks to conducting field-based impact assessments. You'll work alongside a multidisciplinary team of experts on projects funded by leading international agencies and government departments, gaining exposure to diverse development challenges and innovative solutions.
This role is ideal for professionals who are passionate about evidence-based development, enjoy both analytical and field-based work, and want to contribute to meaningful change in communities across India.

Public health programs and service delivery
Agricultural and livestock development schemes
Policy research and governance
CSR and development impact evaluation
ResponsibilitiesResearch and EvaluationConduct desk research, literature reviews, and secondary data analysis for MEL activities across development sectors
Lead impact assessments of government schemes in school education, renewable energy, agriculture, and livestock development
Design and execute formative research and KAP (Knowledge, Attitudes, and Practices) studies for communication needs assessment
Tool Development and Capacity BuildingDevelop research tools for quantitative and qualitative studies
Design BCC (Behavior Change Communication) tools for C4D interventions
Recruit, train, and supervise field investigation teams for research studies
Support capacity-building initiatives as a faculty resource person
Quality Assurance & ImplementationSupervise data collection and ensure quality assurance of field activities
Conduct HRD/OD (Human Resource Development/Organizational Development) interventions and action research
Assist media production teams in content and script development
Additional ResponsibilitiesUndertake field visits, facilitate workshops and training sessions, and lead M&E activities
Execute other assignments as directed by Subject Matter Experts and the Executive Director
Travel extensively throughout India as required by project needs
Required QualificationsEducationMaster's or Doctoral degree in Social Sciences, Economics, Management, Development Studies, Public Policy, Public Health, or a closely related discipline
Experience2-5 years of experience in qualitative and quantitative research, large-scale surveys, or action research
Background in education, development economics, formative research, or BCC preferred
Technical SkillsProficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required
Experience with SPSS or R for data analysis preferred
Familiarity with SurveyCTO or KoboToolbox for data capture preferred
Other RequirementsWillingness to travel extensively across India
Must be based in Bhopal or able to relocate independently (relocation assistance not provided)
Compensation commensurate with educational qualifications and relevant experience
Initial appointment on probationary basis
Opportunity for regular absorption upon successful completion of probation
