The firm is now setting up its Mumbai studio to strengthen its India presence and is looking to appoint a Senior Project Architect as part of the founding core team reporting directly into the Studio Director. This is a well placed role to drive India+Global project delivery excellence, collaborating closely with global colleagues.

• Job Type: Full-time, On-site, Mon-Fri - 5 day work week.
• Location: Powai, Mumbai
• Compensation Band on Offer: Best in Industry Compensation + discretionary bonus + opportunity to travel to UK/Europe offices.

Position Overview

As a Senior Project Architect, you will be part of the founding core team of our clients Mumbai studio, driving and managing the technical delivery of all prestigious architectural projects. This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of project oversight, organisation, and client coordination, while ensuring delivery to the firms global quality standards.

Selected candidates will be inducted, trained, and supported in the UK and European offices, ensuring alignment with international systems and processes before transitioning into leadership of projects in India.

This role is both client-facing and team-building, with responsibility for mentoring junior architects, leading project meetings, and ensuring design intent and statutory compliance are achieved at every stage.

Role & Responsibilities

• Act as our clients architectural lead on projects maintaining day to day client project contact
• Be responsible for all aspect of our clients technical service delivery for the entire end to end project duration.
• Lead the design team and client meetings, produce detailed meeting minutes.
• Undertake the preparation, maintenance and monitoring of the project design programme
• Communicating resource needs to Account managers and Associates
• Be responsible for creating, updating, and managing all project-related financials and resourcing data in the companys internal project management software, for as long as the project is active.
• Maintain the Project Quality Control System
• Monitor the financial performance and report back to account manager or responsible associate, raising any issues that may affect the agreed fee
• Lead the contract administration process and ensure our client meets its responsibilities
• Lead, motivate, support and manage a team, demonstrating ability to get the best out of your team.
• Mentor, encourage and contribute to individual career development.
• Inspire and promote our clients values within the team.
• Ensuring teams are aligned with company policies, procedures and that the company standards are being consistently met.
• Review, approve and manage holiday requests, expenses, time off in lieu (TOIL).
• Communicate important information from the leadership team and implement any procedural changes.
• Participate in recruitment and employee inductions for junior staff
• Undertake employee reviews and support with training, development and growth of individuals.
• Manage safety and well-being of the team.
• Demonstrate emotional intelligence, foster empathy, understanding and effective communication with the team with the aim of creating a cohesive, balanced and collaborative team.

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Architecture (or equivalent built environment discipline).
• Registered Architect in India.
• 1012 years of architectural experience, with demonstrated project leadership across all work stages.
• Must have a minimum of 3 years of experience working on data centers projects.
• Proficiency in Revit and other design software (AutoCAD, SketchUp).
• Experience in large-scale projects across sectors such as Data Centres, High End Retail, Hospitality, Workplace, and Logistics .
• Strong knowledge of Indian building codes, zoning regulations, and statutory compliance.
• Excellent communication skills (written and spoken English).
• Ability to manage client relationships and coordinate with consultants, contractors, and global colleagues.
• Passport holder, available for training and travel to UK/Europe as required.
