Job Description
Essential Functions:
•10 plus years of experience as a system administrator, with proven leadership capabilities
•Managing and mentoring a team of system and network administrators, assigning tasks, reviewing performance, and providing technical guidance
•Ability to motivate and delegate tasks to team members, provide effective coaching, and manage priorities.
•Provide Systems Administration to core Corporate IT Server Platforms, Network and Application.
•Support the development and incorporation of best practices and approaches into the company´s processes and methodologies.
•Participate in determination of root cause/solution analysis for service failure and support escalation.
•Perform a system/server security remediation and ensure that the system and application are on up to date patch levels and conform to the security standard.
•Operate in complex, highly secure, and highly available, operations environments and interact with the technology domain experts required to maintain those environments.
•Demonstrate a commitment to customer service, pro-active review of processes and procedures to continually enhance service quality, service delivery and support.
•The candidate will be heavily involved in ensuring the team meets all SLA's and team objectives.
•Must have a strong commitment to execution, follow through and timely communication.
•Execute decisive action to preserve and maintain service availability, performance, integrity, capacity and security.
•Monitor incident queues, troubleshoot issues and lead conference calls with other groups to mitigate impacts.
•Collaborate with Engineering teams across various platforms (Windows, UNIX/Linux, Network, Storage, Database and Middleware) to translate application requirements into system requirements.
•Good problem-solving skills with focus on troubleshooting issues in complex production environments
•Willing to learn new technologies and software, thinking out of the box, questioning the norm and innovative.
•Will be expected to work on-call rotation.
•Proficient in using tools for system and network monitoring
•Good written and verbal communication skills.
•Able to multitask and make decisions based on technical knowledge.
•Experience working with offshore and globally distributed teams.
This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
5+ years of relevant work experience and a Bachelors degree, OR 8+ years of relevant work experience
Preferred Qualifications
6 or more years of work experience with a Bachelors Degree or 4 or more years of relevant experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or up to 3 years of relevant experience with a PhD
Microsoft, Cisco and relevant industry certifications will be preferred.
•Experience and In-depth knowledge with Network and Windows system administration activities
•Experience Installing, configuring, and patching Windows Server operating systems on physical and virtual servers.
•Implementing and maintaining system security policies
•Performing backups and disaster recovery procedures
•Advanced understanding of Cisco routing and switching
•Expert level knowledge of switching and routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, LACP, Spanning Tree)
•Advanced level knowledge of Cisco VPN networking (Firepower, ASA, IPSEC)
•Broad knowledge of TCP/IP, MPLS, WAN, LAN and WLC based wireless networking
•Advanced level knowledge for SASE solutions and Arista switching
•Knowledge of SD-WAN technologies, ideally Silver Peak.
•Working knowledge of Cloud, Azure and Hybrid computing
•Knowledge automation tools, ideally SolarWinds and Catalyst Center.
•Experience creating low-level network design documentation including detailed Visio diagrams.
