Job Description
Job Summary
• Support the Head of Regulatory Implementation to realise business value through the creation and delivery of a product roadmap and it’s associated product backlog.
• Develop an understanding of all areas of the Group Regulatory Onboarding Standards and Procedures as a foundation for creating supportive relationships with Compliance, Regulatory Implementation, and Operations teams.
• Leading the valuation of business initiatives, requirements gathering and produce analysis artifacts to drive change initiatives: operating model, process maps and business requirements
• Support the engagement of key stakeholders across client facing divisions, Markets Middle Office, and Markets Account Opening etc.
• Providing vision and direction to the technology team and stakeholders throughout the implementation and hold the pen on solution and requirements.
• Ensure and manage a healthy backlog of process/product enhancement initiatives.
• Provide backlog management, iteration planning, and elaboration of the business initiatives and collaboration on epics and user stories
• Within sprints, assess value, develop cases, and prioritize stories, epics and themes to ensure work focuses on those with maximum value that are aligned with product/process strategy.
• Provide an active role in mitigating impediments impacting successful team completion of Release/Sprint Goals.
• Research and analyse market, the users, and the roadmap for the product, feeding this into the Product ownership team.
• Keep abreast with Agile/Scrum best practices.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy
• Business alignment / Product expertise: Product specialists who understand business priorities and strategy, define optimal solutions leveraging industry leading facilities and influence behaviour through countenance.
• Connect: Build bridges across the bank to simplify current operating model, create efficiencies and identify new opportunities
• Leadership and Market presence: Own your domain and influence product evolution, define internal standards and shape future utilities through selective industry positioning.
• Risk Manager: Define the standard to effectively control the T-0 business day; understand regulations, key trends, and external incidents; voice opinions and concerns; protect the bank
Business
Financial Markets Middle Office was set up in 2016 to deliver first class trade support, business enablement and accurate / timely trade representation to meet obligations to clients, counterparties, and regulators. We are product and process subject matter experts aligned to the Global Financial Markets business providing follow the sun support, a continuous improvement mindset and industry connectivity
Processes & Responsibilities
• This role works within the Markets Regulatory Implementation team to support the transformation of existing infrastructure to enable quality service to our clients and achieve Markets regulatory compliance across the end-to-end client lifecycle.

• Experience in large stakeholder management / workshop facilitation
• Works with the Head of Regulatory Implementation to develop, maintain and communicate the vision and roadmap to technology squads and other stakeholders.
• Provides necessary clarity to technology squads on prioritization and empower them to make independent delivery decisions in alignment with business scorecard.
• Facilitates removal of blockers and impediments, including escalating and making decisions when there are conflicting priorities or trade-off decisions required across multiple product owners.
• Focuses on benefits realization for the work delivered by the squads.
• Presents at the cluster level events such as PO Sync meeting, Scrum of Scrum etc. to align on prioritization and backlog refinement/readiness.
• Responsible for ensuring Benefits and Metrics are defined, agreed, tracked and reported.
• Empowered decision maker from the 1st Line.
• Accountable for maximizing the business value of their product and delivering their 'product's' contribution to the Business plan and QPR scorecard.
• Optimizes value delivery through continuous improvement, feedback from relevant stakeholders /SMEs/ customers and prioritization of backlog.
• Works with Scrum Master and squad members to build an empowered, high performing team.
• Ensures all artefacts and assurance deliverables are as per the required standards and policies.
• Ensures regular engagement and management of Process Change, Operational and Delivery Risk for their backlog (and all other relevant Risk requirement).

Risk Management

• Comply with Group Money Laundering Prevention Policy and Procedures to the extent applicable and report all suspicious transactions to the Unit
• Timely escalations and resolutions on confirmation outstanding etc as per Escalation policy
Governance
• Comply with all the group standards, policies, procedures, and guidelines as applicable and values of the Bank at all times
• Always adhere to Group Code of Conduct
• In the event of serious regulatory breaches, or where risk tolerances have been breached, ensure senior management are informed and that actions are taken quickly to remediate and/or activities are ceased
Qualifications
• University degree in related subject (preferably in Finance)
• Minimum 10 years of Product Management experience - ideally from a top tier bank
• Domain knowledge of Financial Markets Regulations such as MiFID, EMIR and Dodd Frank.
• Experience of FM products like FX, Securities and Derivatives
• Essential & deep understanding of Financial Markets business and front to back Operational processes
• Proven track record of managing high performing technology squads. Strategic mindset & forward-thinking vision
• Strong industry connections including industry bodies, working groups and vendors.
• Influencing skills – Able to simplify complex problems / scenarios to a wide audience and gain stakeholder buy-in
