Job Title: Senior Manager, DevOps Engineering / DevOps Lead

Position Summary:
The role is responsible for leading DevOps/Platform initiatives ensuring operational excellence, reliability, scalability, and observability across cloud environments. This role combines technical leadership, strategic planning, and people management to drive engineering excellence and deliver secure, automated, and efficient solutions.

Primary Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership & Team Management:

• Define DevOps vision, roadmap, and capability strategy aligned with business goals.
• Build and manage high-performing global teams (DevOps engineers, SREs).
• Mentor and develop talent; foster a culture of automation and continuous improvement.
• Drive cross-functional collaboration between engineering, product, and operations.

CI/CD Governance & Automation:

• Establish enterprise-wide CI/CD standards and best practices.
• Oversee implementation of automated build, test, and deployment pipelines.
• Ensure integration of quality gates and artifact management.
• Monitor pipeline efficiency and optimize speed and reliability.

Infrastructure as Code & Cloud Strategy:

• Drive adoption of IaC tools (Terraform) for consistent provisioning.
• Align cloud infrastructure strategy with scalability and cost optimization goals.
• Ensure compliance through policy-as-code and governance frameworks.
• Review automation coverage and audit readiness.

Observability & Reliability Engineering:

• Define SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets for platform reliability.
• Monitor incident trends and drive MTTR improvements.
• Ensure proactive alerting and predictive analytics for system health.

Security & Compliance:

• Embed security practices into CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure automation.
• Oversee vulnerability scanning and compliance audits.
• Implement RBAC, secrets management, and policy enforcement.
• Ensure adherence to regulatory and internal security standards.

Financial & Operational Governance:

• Implement FinOps practices for cloud cost optimization.
• Monitor resource utilization and enforce budget controls.
• Drive operational efficiency through automation and process improvements.
• Report on cost savings and ROI for DevOps initiatives.

Stakeholder Engagement & Reporting:

• Communicate DevOps strategy and progress to senior leadership.
• Provide dashboards and reports on KPIs (deployment frequency, MTTR, uptime).
• Align priorities with product and business teams.
• Represent DevOps in governance forums and architecture councils.

Required Qualifications:

• 10+ years of experience in DevOps or Platform Engineering in GCP/AWS environments.

String Technical Expertise in -

• CI/CD automation, Infrastructure Scripting for cloud services like Terraform.
• Batch processing frameworks, Real time streaming, and orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow, Composer, Dataflow)
• Infrastructure engineering, networking, and system integration
• Proficiency in SQL and Python for troubleshooting, scripting, and platform automation
• Demonstrated experience in designing and supporting platforms in cloud-native environments (GCP or AWS preferred).
• Proven leadership in managing technical teams and DevOps/platform Engineering/support functions.
• Excellent communication, cross-team collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
