Sr. Linux Engineer

Summary:

We are seeking a experienced Linux Administrator to join our IT department. This pivotal role involves designing and implementing enterprise infrastructure, managing Linux clusters, ensuring server availability. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in Linux/Unix systems, virtualization hypervisors, and cloud architectures, along with a proven track record in infrastructure monitoring, security audits, and system optimization.

Key Responsibilities:

- Design and implement enterprise infrastructure, including virtualization hypervisors and cloud architectures (AWS, Azure, GCP).

- Administer, configure, and support Linux & Unix servers and application deployments.

- Ensure high availability and performance tuning of Linux servers.

- Develop infrastructure monitoring and reporting tools.

- Maintain configuration management tools, utilizing Puppet/Chef etc.

- Conduct root cause analysis for major incidents and communicate findings to stakeholders.

- Develop system administration procedures, including system monitoring, maintenance, and backup/recovery.

- Lead DC DR drills and automate daily administrative tasks.

- Perform security audits and provide patch management reports.

- Collaborate with various teams and vendors to optimize system configuration.

- Maintain SLAs for client support and contribute to technical documentation.

Skills :

- Excellent troubleshooting skills with expertise in performance tuning and diagnostics.

- Proficient in Linux/Unix servers management and security practices.

- Advanced knowledge of Linux operating systems and clustering experience (Red Hat, Veritas Cluster, Oracle RAC).

- Familiarity with scripting languages (Perl, Python, shell) and system services (Bind, Apache, MySQL).

- Network configuration and troubleshooting skills, including experience with iptables, HAProxy, and VLANs.

- Knowledge of AD authentication, Kerberos, SAN/NAS configuration, and enterprise backup tools.

- Experience with ITSM systems like ServiceNow/Remedy.

- Strong communication skills, analytical and problem-solving abilities, and experience working in global teams.
