Main Purpose:
- Responsible for strategic leadership and end-to-end ownership of data governance, quality, security, availability, and lifecycle management of all Clean Energy data.
- Ensure Clean Energy data across exploration, drilling, production, monitoring, and environmental domains is accurate, standardized, secure, and audit-compliant.
- Enable informed decision-making, regulatory adherence, and long-term organizational knowledge retention.
Job Accountabilities:
- Define, implement, and continuously improve the Clean Energy data governance framework aligned with organizational digital and subsurface strategies.
- Establish and enforce enterprise-wide data standards, naming conventions, metadata schemas, version control, and master data principles for Clean Energy datasets.
- Act as data owner/steward for data assets and ensure alignment with regulatory and statutory requirements.
- Ensure compliance with organizational, regulatory, statutory, and environmental data retention policies.
- Define data lifecycle workflows covering acquisition, validation, storage, archival, and disposal.
- Lead internal and external audits related to data security, regulatory compliance, and environmental reporting.
- Oversee ingestion and integration of Clean Energy data from geological, geophysical, drilling, well operations, and environmental systems.
- Ensure seamless integration of structured and unstructured data into centralized data repositories or platforms.
- Define and implement data quality frameworks, validation rules, reconciliation processes, and KPIs.
- Provide functional leadership for Clean Energy data systems, databases, and subsurface applications.
- Ensure timely availability of high-quality data for reservoir modeling, operational analysis, and compliance studies.
- Ensure role-based access control, data confidentiality, and controlled data sharing. Act as the single point of accountability for all Clean Energy data-related matters and lead coordination with internal and external stakeholders.
Skills Required:
- Strong expertise in Clean Energy/subsurface data governance and standards.
- Proficiency in data acquisition, integration, and lifecycle management.
- Advanced understanding of data quality, validation, reconciliation, and lineage.
- Experience with enterprise data platforms, databases, and subsurface systems.
- Knowledge of data security, compliance, and audit frameworks.
- Ability to support analytics-driven decision-making.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Ability to lead cross-functional and multidisciplinary teams.
- High attention to detail with a strategic mindset.
- Proactive risk identification and problem-solving capability.
Experience Required:
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in data management, with a focus on Clean Energy or Geotechnical data.
Preferred Educational Qualification:
- Bachelors Degree in Information Technology or Computer Science/Chemical/Petroleum, MSc in Geology.
- Masters degree or certifications in Data Management/Information Governance will be an added advantage.
