Sr. Lead Chemical Engineer

Job Purpose:

Lead and assure process design, pilot plant operations, and scale-up activities for gasification and syngas-to-chemicals processes, ensuring safe operation, reliable data generation, and robust process optimization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and review process design for pilot plants and scale-up configurations for gasification and downstream chemical processes.
• Review and approve process engineering deliverables, including PFDs, P&IDs, process data sheets, and control philosophies.
• Participate in and provide technical inputs to HAZOPs, risk assessments, and safety reviews.
• Oversee pilot plant commissioning, operations, and performance evaluation.
• Interpret pilot plant data and integrate learnings into process models and design assumptions.
• Optimize process parameters to improve efficiency, reliability, and scale-up readiness.
• Support troubleshooting of complex process and operational issues during pilot campaigns.
• Guide and mentor chemical engineers and process teams on best practices and standards.
• Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure integrated and practical process solutions.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelors, Masters, or Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering.
• 1218 years of experience in process engineering, pilot plant operations, R&D, or technology development.
• Strong experience in gasification and chemical processes is desirable.
• Experience with process simulation tools such as Aspen Plus or equivalent.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work across design, operations, and field environments.
