Sr GIS Specialist

Main Purpose:

• Design, develop, and implement Geographic Information System (GIS) solutions to support organizational and project objectives.
• Create, manage, and maintain GIS maps and spatial datasets for multiple initiatives.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate GIS technologies into business and operational workflows.

Job Accountabilities:

• Develop, manage, and maintain GIS databases, ensuring high levels of data accuracy, integrity, and consistency.
• Create detailed GIS maps, layouts, and visualizations to support analysis and decision-making.
• Perform spatial data analysis to identify patterns, trends, and insights aligned with organizational goals.
• Work closely with stakeholders to gather GIS requirements and deliver customized geospatial solutions.
• Provide technical support, guidance, and basic training to team members on GIS tools and applications.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, best practices, and data governance guidelines for GIS data management.
• Document GIS processes, workflows, and outputs for operational and audit purposes.

Skills Required:

• Proficiency in GIS mapping, spatial data analysis, and visualization techniques.
• Strong working knowledge of GIS software and tools such as ArcGIS and/or QGIS.
• Solid analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting abilities.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
• High attention to detail with a strong commitment to data quality and accuracy.

Experience Required:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in GIS engineering, GIS analysis, or a related geospatial role.
• Proven experience in developing, managing, and maintaining GIS maps and spatial databases.

Preferred Educational Qualification:

• Master's degree in Geology or a related field.
