What youll be doing...

You will be responsible for managing complex AI&D foundational programs and products, particularly in Data Engineering, Platform Engineering, and Artificial Intelligence functions.. This role also involves managing multiple AI&D products or related work from inception through to completion, ensuring delivery on time, within scope, and to the highest quality standards

Program and Product Management:

• Managing complex AI&D foundational programs and products, specifically in Data Engineering, Platform Engineering, and Artificial Intelligence functions

• Managing multiple AI&D products or AI&D-related work from other Verizon Portfolios from inception through completion

• Guiding data products from concept to implementation, ensuring the data infrastructure meets Verizon's needs

• Coordinating the design of data models, data integration frameworks, and data governance

• Ensuring data architecture supports scalability, security, and performance, along with driving adoption of the Data & AI industrialization framework/practices

• Establishing the program-level portfolio of work across the organization by facilitating a centralized strategic roadmap for planning resources and directing teams on foundational builds

Project Planning and Coordination:

• Developing detailed project plans, including timelines, milestones, resource allocation, and budgets

• Coordinating with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, engineers, analysts, and stakeholders, to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables

• Facilitating project kick-off meetings, progress updates, and reviews to ensure alignment and effective communication among all team members

Execution and Monitoring:

• Utilizing project management tools like Jira for task management, resource allocation, progress tracking, and reporting

• Employing project management methodologies such as Agile, Scrum, and Kanban to manage workflows and optimize project delivery

• Overseeing the day-to-day execution of projects, ensuring adherence to plans

Resource and Budget Management:

• Managing the resource allocation plan across the organization to ensure clarity on priority and assignment

• Managing the resource management tool and potentially tracking budget performance vs. allocated budgets

Stakeholder Management

• Acting as the primary point of contact for all project-related communications with internal and external stakeholders

• Preparing and delivering regular project status reports, presentations, and updates to senior management and other stakeholders

• Working with various cross-functional teams committed to delivering AI solutions

Risk Management

• Identifying, assessing, and managing project risks, developing mitigation strategies to minimize impact on project outcomes

• Ensuring compliance with organizational policies, industry regulations, and best practices in data security, privacy, and ethical AI use

This role also focuses on ensuring that teams and stakeholders have seamless access to the tools, data, and resources needed to maximize the effectiveness of AI and data solutions. This will require the ability to engage a team, strong resource management skills, setting clear standards, removing barriers, problem-solving, and a commitment to helping everyone on your team do their best work

Youll need to have:

• A Bachelors degree or six or more years of work experience

• Six or more years of relevant work experience as a Project Manager in a technology-driven environment, preferably within AI, Data, or software development

• A strong understanding of Data Engineering, AI, machine learning, and data analytics concepts and technologies

• Demonstrated experience managing complex projects involving cross-functional teams and diverse stakeholders

• Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills

• Mandatory Certifications (any one of): PMP, CSM, PRINCE, or PSM

• Mandatory Project Management Tool Expertise: Jira

• For specific program-level roles, an understanding and expertise of Quickbase is also mandated

• Preferable knowledge in Data Engineering (Enterprise Data Warehouse, Data Pipeline development, Data modeling, and Big Data) on Cloud, preferably a Google Cloud environment

• Preferred knowledge in DevOps

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

• Experience in the AI & Data industry or related fields

• Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., Google Cloud, Teradata, etc.) and data management tools

• Familiarity with Project Management Institute (PMI) processes and standards

• Experience with Gsuit, and even better, Clarity PPM Engines
