Phase Power Protection Pvt Ltd, India a wholly owned subsidiary of ERLPhase Power Technologies Ltd., Canada is seeking a professional, innovative, and detail-oriented individual for the position of Sr. Engineer Validation & Application Engineering.

The Sr. Engineer will be responsible for managing all technical aspects of customer interface, including validation, application engineering, and field support. Strong multitasking and time management skills are essential.

• Develop test plans, test cases, and execute validation testing.
• Perform compliance testing as per IEC 61850, IEEE, IEC and other relevant standards.
• Maintain detailed documentation of test procedures, results, and configurations.
• Generate comprehensive validation and compliance reports.
• Communicate testing status and findings to the R&D team.
• Perform root cause analysis and collaborate with development teams to resolve issues.
• Drive continuous improvement in validation processes, tools, and methodologies.

• Provide technical expertise in selection, configuration, and application of protective relays and control systems.
• Assist in the design and implementation of protection schemes and relay settings.
• Collaborate with design teams to ensure seamless integration into electrical systems.
• Support customers and field teams with troubleshooting and application guidance.

• Travel to client sites for relay testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and application support.
• Provide on-site technical resolution for protection and control system issues.
• Coordinate with clients, contractors, and project teams to ensure successful execution.

• Conduct technical training sessions for customers and internal teams.
• Stay updated on emerging technologies in relay protection and industry standards.
• Support Sales teams with technical presentations and participation in trade shows.

• Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 8+ years of experience in electric power systems.
• Strong knowledge of protective relay applications in utilities or engineering firms.
• Experience with EMTP, load flow, and short circuit studies.
• Excellent technical presentation and communication skills.
• Strong organizational and execution skills with a customer-focused mindset.

• Strong working knowledge of communication protocols including IEC 61850, DNP3, Modbus, and integration with SCADA/automation systems.
• Hands-on experience with different types of protective relays such as Distance, Differential, Overcurrent, Feeder, Transformer, Busbar, and Generator protection relays.
• In-depth understanding of protection functions including Transformer Protection, Busbar Protection, Line Protection, Feeder Protection, Generator Protection, and Motor Protection schemes.

• Experience in transmission, distribution, and generation systems.
• Hands-on experience with protection relays and disturbance fault recorders in substations.
• Basic knowledge of networking design, analysis, and troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of advanced communication protocols and communication system architecture.
• Experience working in project teams and leading technical initiatives.
• Strong expertise in system protection, integration, and automation applications.
