Sr Engineer, Platform

As a Senior Engineer of Platform at Kantata, you will play a pivotal role in designing and implementing the overall architecture of our platform. Youll ensure our systems are robust, scalable, and secure, while driving innovation and continuous improvement. Youll collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver exceptional client experiences and help shape the future of our cloud-based solutions. This is a journey-level position for experienced professionals who are passionate about technology, leadership, and making a real impact.

Primary Responsibilities :

• Design and implement the overall architecture of the platform, including technology stack selection, infrastructure planning, and system component integration.
• Develop and maintain core systems and services, such as APIs, data storage solutions, and messaging systems, ensuring reliability and maintainability.
• Optimize system performance for high availability and low latency. Ensure the platform can scale to meet growing business demands.
• Manage and maintain underlying infrastructure, including servers, databases, and network systems, both on-premises and in the cloud.
• Design and implement cloud-based systems. Lead migration of existing systems to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
• Ensure the platform meets security and compliance requirements, including data encryption, access controls, and auditing.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, product, operations) to drive platform development and adoption. Mentor less-experienced team members as needed.
• Identify, prioritize, and develop strategies to address technical debt. Refactor and improve the platforms codebase and architecture.
• Design and implement monitoring and logging systems to ensure visibility into platform performance, errors, and security incidents.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and trends. Apply new knowledge to drive innovation and continuous improvement in the platform.

What You Bring To The Role

• At least 5 years of relevant experience, including 5+ years of Linux experience and 3+ years of Kubernetes experience.
• Experience with Terraform, Ansible or other infrastructure-as-code is highly desirable.
• Proven expertise in designing and developing APIs, data storage solutions, and messaging systems. Strong experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and cloud migration projects.
• Hands-on experience managing servers, databases, and network systems. Skilled in optimizing system performance for high availability and low latency.
• Solid understanding of security best practices, data encryption, access controls, and compliance requirements.
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and mentor less-experienced team members.
• Passion for continuous improvement, creative problem-solving, and staying current with emerging technologies and trends.
