The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

As Sr. Automation Engineer within Security Engineering and Operations, you will be a senior individual contributor responsible for designing, engineering, and maintaining the automation capabilities that strengthen Solventum’s cyber defense ecosystem. In this role, you will:

• Engineer, administer, and optimize the enterprise SOAR platform (Swimlane), including playbook development, system integrations, platform stability, upgrades, and performance tuning.

• Develop, test, and deploy advanced automation workflows using Python and PowerShell to enhance SOC and CIRT efficiency, improve response consistency, and scale cyber operations.

• Partner with SOC, CIRT, and Security Engineering teams to identify automation use cases and translate operational requirements into high quality, reusable automation solutions.

• Design and maintain secure automation frameworks, coding standards, and development pipelines that support repeatable, reliable, and maintainable automation practices.

• Troubleshoot complex technical issues across APIs, identity systems, EDR, SIEM, ticketing systems, threat intelligence platforms, and other integrated security technologies.

• Evaluate and recommend improvements to SOAR architecture, integrations, automation coverage, and data flows to enhance operational resilience and reduce manual effort.

• Serve as the technical subject matter expert for security automation, contributing advanced expertise to cross functional engineering initiatives.

• Maintain documentation for automation workflows, schemas, integrations, and platform configurations to ensure continuity and operational clarity.
   

Your skills & expertise (Minimum qualifications):

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Information Security, Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

• 7+ years of hands‑on experience in security engineering, SOC automation, or similar cybersecurity technical roles.

• Experience engineering and administering enterprise SOAR platforms (Swimlane preferred).

• Proficiency in Python and PowerShell, including experience creating scalable, modular, and maintainable automation code.

• Experience integrating automation workflows with SIEM, EDR, identity platforms, case management systems, and security APIs.

• Strong understanding of SOC and CIRT workflows, including alert triage, enrichment, investigation, containment, and incident response.

• Demonstrated ability to independently design and deliver high‑impact automation solutions aligned with advanced specialist expectations.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present findings to technical and non‑technical audiences.

• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, nights, weekends, and participation in an after-hours on-call rotation to provide critical support coverage as needed.
   

Additional qualifications (Nice to have):

• Industry certifications such as GCA, GPYC, CISSP, GCIA, GCTI, or equivalent.

• Experience with SOAR architecture design, high‑availability configurations, or platform migration.

• Experience supporting cloud‑native automation or cloud security tools (AWS, Azure, GCP).

• Familiarity with REST APIs, event‑driven automation patterns, or message‑based integrations.

• Experience with Git, DevOps pipelines, CI/CD, or infrastructure‑as‑code workflows.
   

Work location: Bangalore - Hybrid
