Senior HR Compliance Analyst is a subject matter expert on HR compliance requirements to ensure compliance with labour laws and regulations for the country. The role involves managing end to end HR compliance requirements ensuring proper implementation of legal and statutory obligations. The role would also advice the local People function POCs on labour laws and compliance issues.
Key responsibilities:
- Labor Law Compliance
Stay up to date within changes in the Indian labor laws including but not limited to Shops and Establishment Act, EPF, ESI, Payment of Gratuity Act, Maternity Benefit Act, Minimum wages Act, POSH etc.
Ensure compliance of local HR policies and process with the laws, advice on changes when necessary and work closely with the COEs/POCs to implement changes
- Employee Benefits and Statutory Compliance
Ensure timely and accurate filings pertaining to labour department requirements and ensuring the labour compliance vendor adheres to all such required completions.
Payroll related reporting as required including and not limited to salary & leave registers/summaries and statutory reporting.
Ensuring employee benefits are in adherence to the legal requirements
- HR Audit and Record Keeping
In charge of internal HR/compliance audits. Liase with external auditors when required and address non compliance issues.
Analyse compliance programs and determine the best strategy and means to minimize risks.
- Employee Communication
Owns and delivers any employee communication required for compliance matters.
Is responsible for answering any employee questions regarding compliance
Provide guidance on compliance requirements during policy creation/amendment.
- Reporting and Documentation
Prepare and file necessary compliance reports for related authorities
Manage and update employee information and communication for statutory filings including employee forms and related information
- Vendor and Third Party Management
Coordinate with external vendors, legal advisors and compliance experts to ensure compliance when necessary.
- Risk Management
Monitor policies and procedures for potential compliance risks and address issues
Stay informed about legal and regulatory developments in the country impacting HR compliance.
Establish internal and external network of Indian Labor Law advisory sources for in scope.
Qualification:
Preferably a law graduate or any graduate/post graduate with relevant experience
Knowledge & Skill :
- A strong understanding of Indian Labour Laws and employment legislation and ability to advise on how to translate this into practical solutions/directions.
- Be proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and HRIS.
- Have a strong ‘customer service’ ethic & able to work effectively under pressure.
- Be comfortable in handling ambiguity and fluid situations and have a pragmatic approach.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to write HR plans, processes, proposals and reports. The ability to facilitate open forums and communicate HR messages to all levels of the Company.
