Job Description
About the Role
It is a crucial role in overseeing the daily activities associated with Gap Inc.’s international shipments movement for both ocean as well as air freight. This position collaborates with both internal teams and external partners to pinpoint opportunities and address potential challenges affecting Gap's transportation network and on-time performance. The goal is to ensure exceptional service delivery to internal customers. Essential responsibilities include data analysis, establishment, and management of key performance indicators (KPIs).What You'll Do
Ocean Consolidation Operation and control tower management
Communicate & implement logistics SOP with internal & external stakeholders.
Manage exceptions and coordinate with consolidators, vendors, and carriers to ensure Service Level agreements (SLAs) are met.
Manage Control Tower to pro-actively identify and mitigate logistics risk; ensure Risk Register communication channel is followed.
Coordinate with forwarder’s Regional Control Tower and ensure their performance.
Manage consolidators CFS operations compliance within the managed origins to ensure the container utilization, loading hierarchy and loading requirement as per SOP.
Manage Factory Load compliance within the responsible origins and approve for exception.
Consolidator and factory training on operational requirement, CLP, loading requirements, 3PL supervision, etc.
Work out Holiday schedule with service providers, ensure cut-offs are reasonable with least impact to the business.
Performance management
Accountable for on-time INDC by ensuring LP, DP on-time of origins assigned.
Manage and own Delay Reason Code Update process, ensure ocean consolidators update Delay Reason Code timely and accurately for the origins / destinations managed by the incumbent.
Leading Carrier and network space planning
Monitor vessel space requirements and work with Forwarder Control Tower and carriers to ensure space availability, identify alternatives to balance cost and performance.
Suggest changes to carrier allocation, carrier service or routing change if needed to ensure DP on-time.
Optimize Ocean network to mitigate potential logistics risk, balance between cost and performance.
Communicate closely with strategic carriers to ensure sufficient capacity and equipment reserved for shipment, suggest available option to tackle space and equipment shortage.
Vendor management
Educate Vendor and service providers on logistics requirements.
Conduct regular factory training and maintain the factory training material.
Communicate closely with GIS Regional Ops Team and consolidator and monitor shipment delivery status and impact due to force majeure.
Ocean contract support and tracking
Support Ocean RFQ process by maintaining Ocean local charges table, Ocean TTP
Suggest ocean carrier allocation based on historical performance and cost in the control region.
Air Shipment Planning and Air Forwarder Management
Manage the air capacity and ensure capacity is enough to meet business requirement.
Identify different opportunity and routing in the market to support business needs.
Manage and monitor air forwarder performance as per SOP / SLA
Support Air RFQ process and suggest air forwarder allocation based on historical performance and cost.
Manage ad hoc air program or project to meet business needs.
Data and visibility
Manage the consolidator and air forwarder data performance including OC, LP, vessel name / voyage and delay reason code update trimline in GLV.
Support data integrality team on data exceptions and escalations.
Communication
Leading the regional communication to different stakeholders including public holiday plan, contingency and risk assessment
Other responsibilities
Support different logistics projects and initiatives to drive operational efficiency and support business development.
Developing, evaluating and revising logistics policies, procedures and plans
Staying up to date on the latest innovations in logistics and what competitors are implementing
Addressing routine and unexpected disruptions in the supply chain to keep products moving
Who You Are
Experience in transportation, warehouse, or inventory management in high-volumn MNC environment (Retail, FMCG, etc.)
A bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply chain management, or a related field
Solid experience in ocean and air freight operations in multinational company will be an advantages
Strong understanding of logistics SOPs and the ability to communicate and implement them effectively with internal and external stakeholders
Experience in managing exceptions and coordinating with consolidators, vendors, and carriers to ensure SLAs are met
Proficiency in performance management, including on-time delivery, cost efficiency, forecast accuracy
Expertise in carrier and ocean network space planning, vendor management, and contract support
Analytic, problem solving and quantitative skills
Knowledge of databases, statistics applications, and logistics programs
Experienced with MS Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
Proactive, motivated, flexible and highly organized
