About the Role


We are organizing Delhis biggest chess tournament with 900+ registered players and 2,000+ premium intellectual footfall. We are looking for a results-oriented Sponsorship Sales professional who can raise funds, close brand partnerships, and secure high-value sponsors for this marquee event.


This is a revenue-driving role, not an admin or coordination position.


Key Responsibilities

  • Sponsorship Sales & Fundraising
  • Identify, approach, and close corporate sponsors (5L 25L+ ticket sizes)
  • Pitch Title, Diamond, Gold, and Category sponsorships
  • Convert sponsorship decks into signed agreements
  • Negotiate commercial terms and close deals independently
  • Lead Generation & Outreach


Build a pipeline of potential sponsors across:

  • EdTech & Education
  • FinTech, Banking & Insurance
  • Technology & Consumer Brands
  • Hospitality, Travel & Mobility
  • Use cold outreach, warm intros, LinkedIn, calls, and meetings
  • Track leads and deal stages systematically
  • Client Communication & Closures
  • Conduct sponsor meetings (online & offline)
  • Understand brand objectives and propose custom integrations
  • Coordinate with organizers for final deliverables post-closure


What Were Looking For


Must-Have


  • 15 years experience in sponsorship sales, brand partnerships, or B2B sales
  • Proven ability to close high-ticket deals
  • Strong communication & persuasion skills
  • Comfort speaking to marketing heads, founders, and CXOs
  • Hunger to chase, pitch, follow up, and close


Strongly Preferred


  • Experience in sports, events, exhibitions, or conferences
  • Existing brand / agency / corporate contacts
  • Experience selling event sponsorships or media packages
  • Compensation Structure (Important)
  • Base Retainer (Optional / Negotiable)
  • High Commission on Funds Raised
  • % on every closed sponsorship
  • Higher slabs for Diamond & Title sponsors
  • Performance Bonuses for crossing milestones


This role is best suited for someone who wants uncapped earning potential, not fixed salary comfort.

  1. Total sponsorship amount raised
  2. Number of sponsors closed
  3. Speed of closures
  4. Upgrade rate (Gold Diamond Title)
