Job Description
Role Summary
We are hiring for an HR Operations role focused on Onboarding, Background Verification (BGV), and Offboarding operations. This role is critical to ensuring a seamless employee lifecycle experience by managing day-to-day HR ops execution while also improving turnaround times (TATs), automating low-value tasks, and strengthening data accuracy and process hygiene. We are looking for a self-starter who can run operations independently and proactively drive process improvements.
Key Responsibilities
1) Background Verification (BGV) - End-to-End Ownership
- Initiate and track BGV cases for new hires via the BGV portal.
- Monitor progress and follow up with candidates/vendors to ensure timely closures.
- Own escalation management for Red/Amber cases, coordinate internal reviews, and document outcomes.
- Maintain accurate BGV status reporting and ensure compliance with internal policies.
2) Onboarding Operations (Pre-joining + Day-1 Readiness)
- Set up new hires in Darwinbox and ensure data accuracy (DOJ, role, manager, location, employee details).
- Coordinate onboarding readiness with key stakeholders (IT for laptop & access, Admin/Facilities, Onboarding/ObX teams).
- Drive operational hygiene: documentation completion, pre-onboarding formalities tracking, stakeholder communication.
- Support onboarding calendars and process adherence to ensure a consistent Day-1 experience.
3) Offboarding Operations (Timely & Secure Exit Execution)
- Manage offboarding checklist and ensure end-to-end closure on Darwinbox/HR systems.
- Coordinate with IMS/Admin to ensure timely removal of system and physical accesses.
- Track recoveries (assets/ID cards as applicable) and maintain exit data/records.
4) Process Improvement & Automation
- Identify recurring operational bottlenecks and propose improvements to reduce cycle time and rework.
- Automate routine reporting and low-value manual work using HRIS features, spreadsheets, templates, and workflows.
- Improve data sanity across onboarding/offboarding trackers and HR systems with periodic audits.
- Build and maintain SOPs, checklists, trackers, and dashboards to improve visibility and predictability.
Key Skills & Competencies
- Strong execution mindset with high ownership and attention to detail.
- Comfortable managing multiple workflows with tight timelines and dependencies.
- Ability to handle sensitive employee data with confidentiality and compliance rigor.
- Strong stakeholder management: can coordinate effectively across Payroll, IMS/IT, Admin, TAG, ObX, and Hiring Managers.
High proficiency in:
- HRIS systems (preferably Darwinbox)
- BGV portals / vendor dashboards
- Excel/Google Sheets (filters, pivot tables, lookups), and operational reporting
- Process thinking: able to simplify steps, eliminate waste, and drive measurable TAT improvements.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree required (MBA/PGDM in HR preferred).
- 2-6 years Prior experience in HR Operations / People Ops with exposure to:
- Onboarding operations
- Background verification processes
- Offboarding/access removal workflows
- Experience handling HRIS data updates, downloads, processing, and reconciliation is mandatory.
Success Metrics (What good looks like)
- Improved onboarding and offboarding TATs with no escalations.
- Higher Day-1 readiness (system access + assets + stakeholder preparedness).
- Reduced manual effort through automation and cleaner, more reliable data.
- Zero compliance gaps in BGV tracking, red/amber handling documentation, and access removals.

- Location: Hyderabad
