Job Summary
Matterway is an AI Assistant helping operational teams in large enterprises by automating repetitive tasks & guiding decision making. Help us reinvent how teams work by putting cutting edge generative AI and automation tools into the hands of everyday business users. You will work across multiple products in the Matterway suite (a cloud platform for process optimization AI coding agents & specialized AI agents.
Responsibilities
What you will do
- Testing Strategy
- Translate business requirements into detailed test plans and test cases
- Define balanced risk-based strategies optimizing coverage vs execution time
- Select effective testing approaches such as manual automated exploratory for each feature
Defect Identification
- Identify reproduce and report defects clearly with detailed steps logs and recordings
- Verify new features and bugs manually tracking each issue to resolution
- Work directly with users to capture detailed repro steps and logs before involving developers
- Perform root cause analyses and drive corrective actions across product and processes
Release Validation and Sign-off
- Own the quality and readiness of every web and desktop releases
- Execute automated and manual tests for feature and full release validation
Test Automation
- Design build and maintain a scalable Playwright-based test suite for web and Electron apps
- Continuously expand automation coverage functional regression performance security
- Reduce flaky tests through effective wait strategies retries and error handling
- Research and recommend improvements to automation frameworks and tools
Operations and Reporting
- Build and maintain automated test result reporting systems
- Set up and manage test environments ensuring consistent test execution
- Monitor and maintain test execution in CI and CD environments
- Champion quality practices influencing team testing and automation approaches
- Collaborate closely with developers product managers and customers to improve automation
- Enhance product documentation based on test findings known issues and user interactions
Collaboration
- Assist with user acceptance testing and feature design
- Actively participate in daily standups sprint planning and requirements walkthroughs

Must-haves
- Excellent English Exceptional written and verbal communication precise test and bug reporting
- 3+ years QA experience including 2+ in automation
- Strong knowledge of test design techniques boundary value analysis equivalence partitioning state transitions
- Proven experience creating comprehensive risk-based test plans aligned with business and technical requirements
Technical Proficiency
- Proficiency in TypeScript JavaScript with 1+ year experience in Playwright or Puppeteer 2+ preferred
- Solid experience with Git such as PR reviews rebase bisect trunk-based workflows
- Computer Science degree or equivalent practical experience
- Product Sense User-focused mindset empathy and advocacy for excellent user experiences
- Soft Skills Strong facilitator and negotiator across teams excellent at expectation management
Nice-to-haves
- Experience integrating tests into CI and CD pipelines such as GitHub Actions GitLab CI Bitrise
- Experience with AI-assisted tools such as GitHub Copilot ChatGPT to accelerate automation scripting
- Understanding of prompt engineering and AI ecosystem
