About the Team and the Role

The Costing & Budgeting team at Ather is responsible for maintaining cost accuracy and providing critical financial insights for our product portfolio, including scooters, accessories, and charging infrastructure.

This role is for a Specialist - BOM Analysis & Reporting who will be central to maintaining the complete Bill of Materials cost, driving digital transformation through data analytics, and fostering a data-driven financial decision culture within Engineering Finance.

Responsibilities

• Maintain complete level-wise BOM costs for all product variants, including accessories and charging infrastructure, ensuring accuracy in supplier data and incoterms.

• Coordinate with internal Engineering and Manufacturing Finance teams for regular, timely updates of BOM costs.

• Develop dashboards and analytical reports to forecast BOM trajectories and establish KPI-based variance reporting for real-time monitoring.

• Track actual BOM reporting, identify discrepancies, and provide insightful commentary for financial control.

• Facilitate monthly and quarterly financial meetings by presenting comprehensive BOM cost data and forecasting analysis.

• Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Sourcing, and Manufacturing to integrate cost variances and collate data for accurate forecasting.

• Drive digital transformation by creating financial dashboards for key business metrics and Engineering Finance analytics.

• Prepare detailed business cases utilizing NPV, IRR, and payback period viewpoints to support strategic decision-making.

Experience and Qualifications

• MBA, BE, or Bcom Graduate

• 5-6 years of hands-on experience in BOM management

Must Have Competencies

• Advanced proficiency in BOM preparation and a deep understanding of diverse BOM parameters and structures.

• Extensive expertise in utilizing Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets for complex financial data management.

• Proven ability to operate and manage data within PLM or dedicated BOM management software systems.

• Specialized skill in creating and managing financial dashboards to track key business and financial metrics.

Good to have Competencies

• Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Tableau, PowerBI, or Qlik for enhanced reporting.

• Basic understanding of Engineering Finance workflows and cross-functional data integration.

• Knowledge of manufacturing and sourcing cost drivers that impact total BOM variance.

• Proficiency in applying financial evaluation metrics like NPV and IRR within business case development.
