Job Title: Special Education Teacher (Special Needs Educator)

Location: Kolkata

Working Hours: 7:30 AM 2:00 PM

Employment Type: Full-Time

Position Overview-

Our client company is seeking an experienced and compassionate Special Education Teacher to support children with diverse learning needs. The candidate must be capable of independently designing and implementing individualized education plans while fostering an inclusive and supportive classroom environment.

Educational Qualifications (Mandatory)-

• Bachelors Degree from a recognized university
• B.Ed. in Special Education OR
• B.Ed. (General) + Diploma / PG Diploma in Special Education OR
• D.Ed. (Special Education) (for primary level)
• Valid RCI Registration (Rehabilitation Council of India) Mandatory
• Cross-Disability / Inclusive Education certification preferred

Experience Requirement-

• 5-10 years of relevant experience as a Special Education Teacher
• Experience handling students with intellectual disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, learning disabilities, ADHD, or multiple disabilities
• Experience in reputed schools or special education institutions preferred

Key Responsibilities-

• Develop, implement, and review Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
• Adapt curriculum and instructional strategies based on student needs
• Conduct academic and behavioral assessments
• Provide remedial instruction and behavioral support Collaborate with parents, therapists, and school management
• Maintain documentation and student progress records
• Promote inclusive education practices within the school
• Guide and mentor junior educators if required

Required Skills & Competencies-

• Strong knowledge of special education methodologies
• Excellent classroom and behavior management skills
• Patience, empathy, and strong interpersonal skills
• Effective communication skills (English proficiency preferred)
• Familiarity with assistive learning tools and adaptive strategies
