Job Description: Sourcing Support Engineer – SQA -Fabrication & Casting Developments

As a Sourcing Engineer – Fabrication; you are responsible for both the quality of the delivered parts from our suppliers and the quality of the production process of the suppliers of Atlas Copco Group Companies. You evaluate, control and optimize the production process of the suppliers, the management system and the product quality. This position requires many internal and external contacts as well as good technical and product knowledge.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• As a Sourcing engineer – Fabrication & castings; you are responsible for evaluating, maintaining, managing, and optimizing the process and product quality of the suppliers.
• You are responsible for complete development of fabrication products with suppliers which includes commercial negotiations as well as product quality maintenance.
• Visit Supplier base check parts as per AC required std. mentioned on drawing
• Investigate the quality issues with regular visits/audits and follow-up of the agreed improvement actions
• Submit Root cause analysis of quality issues and take actions according to it.
• Review quality specifications and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback.
• Estimating, prioritizing, planning and coordinating quality testing activities according to production requirements
• Identify quality issues, record & document it thoroughly and keep track.
• Communicating with project manager about existing defects and how to prevent them in future products
• Applying technical skills related to the product being tested.

Educational requirements:

• University degree in Engineering/Technology (Mechanical)
• Fluent in English

Knowledge:

• Technical expertise in solving quality related issues for fabrications, machining.
• All types of fabrication process as well as casting process GDC / PDC / HPDC /sand fabrication etc.
• Sound Knowledge of patterns making, fabrication process and fabrication defects
• Good Command over ERP Systems, knowledge of SAP is added advantage.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office (esp. MS Word & MS Excel).
• Good Command (Verbal & Written) of English is must.
• Knowledge of Engineered rotatory equipment is added advantage.
• Plan & organize effectively with the right sense of urgency.
• Able to work on multiple tasks by giving due importance to each task.

Experience:

6-7 Years of experience in Sourcing / Quality domain preferably having experience working with Fabrications, machining commodities
