Role Overview

The Sourcing Manager Furniture will be responsible for endtoend sourcing, vendor development, and commercialization of chairs and furniture products at MyFrido. The role will focus on identifying reliable manufacturing partners, negotiating costs, ensuring quality readiness, and supporting new product development while maintaining cost efficiency, scalability, and supply reliability.

This role will work closely with Product, Quality, Operations, and Finance teams to ensure timely and successful launches of furniture and seating solutions aligned with MyFridos ergonomic standards.


Key Responsibilities

Vendor Sourcing & Development

  • Identify, evaluate, and onboard furniture and chair manufacturers (OEM/ODM) across India and international markets
  • Build a robust vendor ecosystem for:
  • Ergonomic office chairs
  • Home seating and functional furniture
  • Wood, metal, plastic, and upholstered furniture
  • Drive vendor capability mapping, capacity assessment, and longterm partnerships

Costing & Commercials

  • Lead cost negotiations, RFQs, and price benchmarking for chairs and furniture components
  • Optimize BOM costs without compromising on comfort, quality, or design intent
  • Support annual cost reduction initiatives and volumebased savings

New Product Development (NPD) Support

  • Partner with Product and Design teams during concept finalization, sampling, and pilot production
  • Coordinate prototyping, sample approvals, and manufacturing feasibility validations
  • Ensure smooth handover from development to mass production

Supply Planning & Execution

  • Ensure timely availability of materials and finished goods
  • Manage lead times, MOQs, and production schedules with vendors
  • Support demand planning and scaleup for fastgrowing SKUs

Quality & Compliance Collaboration

  • Work closely with the Quality team to ensure vendors meet Frido quality standards
  • Support factory audits, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with safety, durability, and ergonomic performance requirements

Stakeholder Management

  • Act as a single point of contact between vendors and internal teams
  • Provide sourcing inputs for launch timelines, cost structures, and scalability
  • Prepare sourcing dashboards, vendor performance reports, and risk assessments


Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Industrial Design, or Manufacturing
  • 610 years of experience in sourcing or procurement of furniture, chairs, or seating products
  • Strong exposure to:
  • Furniture manufacturing processes
  • Materials such as wood, metal, plastics, foams, fabrics, and hardware
  • Proven experience in vendor negotiations, costing, and contract finalization
  • Ability to manage multiple vendors and fastpaced product launches
  • Strong communication, coordination, and stakeholder management skills


Good to Have

  • Experience with ergonomic or office furniture brands
  • Exposure to D2C, consumer brands, or retail sourcing
  • Familiarity with exportoriented furniture manufacturing
  • Understanding of quality standards and testing for furniture products
