Join us in helping leading networking and telecom organizations build high-performance Ethernet-based solutions and drive scalable, sustainable innovation.Your RoleAs a Datacom Developer, you will be responsible for developing and automating Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking protocols for Ethernet-based systems. You will work on virtual router environments, protocol stacks, and automation frameworks to deliver robust and scalable networking solutions.In this role, you will:Design and implement L2/L3 protocols such as STP, RSTP, RIP, OSPF, BGP, and MPLS.Develop and test networking features in virtual router environments like SONiC VM or Cisco VM.Automate networking workflows and test cases using Python.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate and validate protocol implementations.Optimize protocol performance and ensure compliance with industry standards.Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, from design to deployment.Your ProfileBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.6–10 years of experience in networking protocol development.Strong hands-on experience with L2/L3 protocol stacks and Ethernet technologies.Proficiency in C (primary) and C++ (secondary) programming languages.Experience with Linux-based development environments.Familiarity with virtualized networking platforms such as SONiC VM or Cisco VM.Strong scripting skills in Python for automation and tooling.Knowledge of network architecture, routing, and switching fundamentals.What You’ll Love About Working HereWe value flexibility and support our employees with remote work options and adaptable schedules to maintain a healthy work-life balance.Our inclusive culture brings together diverse professionals committed to growth, innovation, and excellence.You’ll have access to continuous learning opportunities and work on cutting-edge networking technologies.About UsAt Capgemini Engineering, the world leader in engineering services, we bring together a global team of engineers, scientists, and architects to help the world’s most innovative companies unleash their potential.
