Solutions Engineering Expert (Azure Integration)

Key Responsibilities:

Solution Architecture & Engineering

• Design and implement enterprise integrations on Azure (API-first, event-driven), ensuring performance, resilience, and cost efficiency.
• Build and maintain workflow-based systems (Logic Apps, Functions/Durable Functions) to streamline complex processes.
• Deliver proofs of concept to validate emerging technologies and automation opportunities; transition PoCs into production-grade services.
• Embed identity, access, key management, and data protection (Entra ID/Managed Identity, Key Vault, RBAC, Customer-Managed Keys) across all designs.
• Produce clear technical documentation (HLD/LLD, runbooks, operational guidelines).

Intelligent Automation & Applied AI

• Integrate AI-enabled capabilities (e.g., Azure OpenAI/Cognitive Services) into automations and decision-support workflows.
• Identify automation potential by analysing process flows and data patterns; develop data-enabled solutions that enhance efficiency and accuracy.
• Partner with product, platform, and data teams to bring governed, secure solutions from prototype to production.

Governance, Risk & Compliance

• Apply structured risk management and promote responsible technology adoption (e.g., model guardrails, prompt safety, data minimization).
• Align solutions to enterprise security, compliance, and audit requirements (e.g., SOC 2 controls, GDPR principles, traceability & evidence).
• Ensure observability/traceability (App Insights/Log Analytics, KQL dashboards), operational resilience and disaster recovery patterns.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Translate business/operational requirements into sustainable technical solutions with clear SLIs/SLOs.
• Work closely with architecture, platform, and data teams to ensure interoperability, scalability, and cost control.
• Drive continuous improvement and modernization of integration patterns, landing zones, and engineering practices.

Candidate Profile (Must-Haves):

• 10+ years in solution engineering/enterprise system delivery, incl. hands-on Azure integration in the last 35 years.
• Azure Integration Services: API Management (APIM), Azure Functions (incl. Durable Functions), Azure Logic Apps, Service Bus, Event Gridused productively in projects.
• DevOps & IaC: Azure DevOps Pipelines (CI/CD) plus Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or Bicep or ARM templates).
• Secure-by-Design: Entra ID/Managed Identity, Key Vault, RBAC/scopes, secrets rotation, data protection (at rest & in transit).
• Proficiency in backend & API architectures (C#/.NET strongly preferred; Python a plus), testing & quality practices.
• Strong analytical/problem-solving skills, system thinking, and excellent communication with technical & business stakeholders.
• Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent; continuous learning mindset.

Nice-to-Haves

• Applied AI in production (e.g., Azure OpenAI, Cognitive Services, RAG/guardrails/evals, prompt safety).
• Event-driven reference architectures, event sourcing, and Kubernetes/AKS.
• Observability (App Insights, Log Analytics, KQL), cost governance (tags, budgets, FinOps awareness).
• Experience in regulated environments (audit evidence, runbooks, change control).
