Role Summary

We are looking for a seasoned Snowflake Solution Architect with strong expertise in Azure cloud to design and deliver scalable, secure, and high-performance data platforms. The candidate will lead end-to-end architecture, migration, modernization, governance, and cost optimization initiatives on Snowflake deployed over Azure.

Mandatory Technical Skills

1 Snowflake (Core Mandatory)

• Snowflake Architecture & Virtual Warehouses
• Multi-cluster warehouse setup
• Snowpipe, Streams & Tasks
• Time Travel & Zero-Copy Cloning
• Query Performance Tuning & Optimization
• Micro-partitioning & Clustering strategy
• RBAC, Dynamic Data Masking & Row Access Policies
• Secure Data Sharing
• Cost optimization & resource governance
• Cross-region replication & DR strategy

2 Azure Cloud (Mandatory)

Hands-on architecture experience in:

• Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS Gen2)
• Azure Data Factory (ADF)
• Azure Synapse (integration knowledge)
• Azure Active Directory (AAD) integration
• Azure Key Vault
• Azure DevOps
• Event Hub (Good to have for streaming)
• Azure Functions (Optional)

3 Data Engineering & ELT

• Advanced SQL (Mandatory)
• Python (Preferred)
• dbt (Strongly Preferred)
• ADF / Informatica / Matillion (Any one mandatory)
• Experience designing large-scale ELT pipelines
• Batch & Near real-time ingestion patterns

4 Data Modeling

• Dimensional Modeling (Kimball)
• Data Vault 2.0
• Star & Snowflake Schema design
• CDC implementation strategies

5 DevOps & Automation

• CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps
• Git-based version control
• Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferred)
• Automated deployment of Snowflake objects

Key Responsibilities

• Architect Snowflake solutions on Azure
• Lead data warehouse migration (Teradata / Oracle / SQL Server to Snowflake)
• Define security & governance framework
• Design scalable ingestion and transformation architecture
• Implement performance tuning best practices
• Define data standards & modeling framework
• Guide cost optimization strategy
• Provide technical leadership to data engineers
• Conduct solution design reviews & architecture governance

Certifications (Preferred but Strongly Recommended)

• SnowPro Core Certification
• Azure Data Engineer Associate (DP-203)
• Azure Solutions Architect (AZ-305)

Soft Skills

• Strong stakeholder engagement
• Client-facing architecture experience
• Excellent documentation & presentation skills
• Experience leading 815 member technical teams

Ideal Candidate Profile

Experience handling 5TB+ data platforms

Experience in multi-region Azure deployments

Exposure to financial services / retail / healthcare domain (preferred)

Experience in cost governance & performance benchmarking
