Solar Structure Design Engineer

Solar System Design:

• WORKING WITH AutoCAD or SOLAR LAB FOR SOLAR INSTALLATION DESIGNING
• Design solar power systems (rooftop and ground-mounted) based on customer requirements and site conditions.
• Perform detailed electrical, mechanical, and structural design of solar PV systems.
• Conduct feasibility studies, site surveys, and energy audits.
• Develop and optimise designs to ensure maximum energy generation and efficiency.
• Design Documentation:
• Prepare and review technical design documentation, including layouts, single-line diagrams (SLDs), electrical schematics, and system specifications.
• Ensure designs meet local codes, regulations, and industry standards.
• Create bills of materials (BOM) and procurement lists for project implementation.
• Software Tools:
• Use solar design software tools (Solar lab, PVsyst, Helioscope, AutoCAD, etc.) for system modelling and simulation.
• Perform shading analysis, and energy production estimation, and select appropriate components (panels, inverters, etc.).
• Project Coordination:
• Collaborate with project managers, electrical engineers, and installation teams to ensure designs are implemented accurately.
• Provide technical support during the installation and commissioning phases.
• Review and optimise system performance during operation and suggest modifications when required.
• Customer Interaction:
• Provide pre-sales support by working with clients to understand their energy needs and presenting tailored solar solutions.
• Communicate with clients and stakeholders to address design-related queries and offer solutions.
• Prepare technical proposals and reports for customer presentations.
• Research & Development:
• Stay up-to-date with advancements in solar technology, materials, and industry trends.
• Continuously seek ways to improve design efficiency and reduce system costs.

Key Requirements:

• Educational Qualification:
• Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience:
• Minimum 6 months-3 years of experience in solar system design, including hands-on experience with design software.
• Previous experience in designing residential, commercial, or industrial solar power systems is preferred.
• Technical Skills:
• Proficient in using solar design software (PVsyst, Helioscope, AutoCAD, or equivalent).
• Strong understanding of solar energy principles, electrical systems, and mechanical design.
• Knowledge of electrical standards, codes, and regulations (such as IS, IEC, etc.).
• Ability to perform site assessments and generate detailed system designs.
• Soft Skills:
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with customers, engineers, and project teams.
• Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Other Skills:
• Familiarity with project management tools is a plus.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certification in Solar PV Design (e.g., NABCEP, or equivalent) is a plus.
• Experience with grid-connected and off-grid systems.
• Knowledge of energy storage systems and hybrid solar solutions.
