Software Technical Writer

Core Responsibilities:

• Works with agile software teams to identify and research product functions, attributes, capabilities, characteristics, and qualities to create end-user documentation
• Works with agile teams to understand user experience and create visuals and diagrams for technical support
• Edits and proofreads technical data for use in documents or sections of documents such as manuals, procedures, sales materials, and training materials
• Ensures technical documentation is accurate and complete; meets editorial and company specifications; and adheres to standards for quality, graphics, coverage, format, and style
• Obtains a deep understanding of products and services to translate complex product information into simple, polished, and engaging content
• Coordinates dependencies with other groups and/or documentation development efforts
• Integrates materials from multiple sources and blends them into unified documentation

Experience / Skills Required:

• Ability to convey technical material in a concise and effective manner
• Experience visualizing and diagramming systems and processes
• Familiarity with plain language guidelines
• Experience with at least one Component Content Management System (CCMS)
• Experience with Adobe Acrobat
• Experience working with Software Developers
• Strong technical skills
• Strong attention to details, highly organized, computer literate
• Impeccable English skills both orally and in writing

Experience / Degree Required:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Data Science, Computer Programming, Software Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Technical Writing, Technical Communications, or related field
• 3 to 8 years of Software Technical Writing experience
