The Opportunity

The Adobe Photoshop team is hiring a dedicated Software Quality Engineer 5 to lead quality initiatives for Gen Tech features. Within the Photoshop Engineering team, you will spearhead the development of guidelines that promote a high-quality product. The ideal candidate thrives in an agile environment, is enthusiastic about new desktop application and generative technology opportunities, and has demonstrated success testing new features and products. Building reliable, scalable, and high-performing products requires outstanding technical skills, deep understanding of Computer Science and desktop technologies, and hands-on experience testing products used by customers.

Responsibilities:

• Build detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans and test cases
• Complete acceptance tests against the release candidate software, in accordance with the test plan
• File detailed issue reports for failing tests; work with automation and development engineers to verify fixes
• Periodically review specifications and test plans, identifying gaps in coverage and supplementing with new test cases
• Add automation tests for features
• Stay up-to-date with new testing tools and test strategies

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (B.E./B.Tech/MCA) in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field or equivalent experience
• 10+ years of progressive experience in software quality engineering and testing, with demonstrated ownership of complex, large‑scale products
• Extensive experience in testing desktop applications, with a solid grasp of platform-specific challenges and quality standards
• Hands‑on experience validating features driven by Generative Technologies, including quality risks, reliability, and user experience considerations
• Proven ability to develop, implement, and complete comprehensive test strategies, define quality metrics, and report actionable insights to collaborators
• Outstanding problem-solving abilities, with the capability to identify, analyze, and lead the resolution of complex technical and quality challenges
• Solid grasp of the complete software development lifecycle, including agile approaches and continuous delivery techniques
• Strong organizational, analytical, and leadership abilities, capable of guiding cross-functional groups and promoting quality excellence
• Strong customer advocacy approach, ensuring user needs, trust, and real‑world usage scenarios are consistently reflected in quality and engineering decisions
