Job Title: Software Quality Assurance (SQA) Intern / QA Intern

Location: On-site (Kochi)

Duration: 6 Months Internship

Stipend: As per company policy

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Software Quality Assurance Intern to support our QA team in ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of web and mobile applications. The intern will work closely with developers, product managers, and senior QA engineers to learn and apply testing best practices.

This role is ideal for candidates looking to build a strong foundation in software testing, quality processes, and agile development.

Key Responsibilities

Manual Testing

Understand functional and technical requirements

Design and execute test cases, test scenarios, and test data

Perform functional, regression, smoke, and sanity testing

Log, track, and verify defects using bug-tracking tools

Re-test fixes and validate defect closures

Test Documentation

Prepare and maintain test cases, test plans, and test reports

Ensure proper documentation of test results and defects

Collaboration & Agile Practices

Work closely with developers and product teams to clarify requirements

Participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives

Assist in user acceptance testing (UAT) support

Learning & Exposure

Learn basics of performance testing and security testing

Get exposure to automation testing tools (if applicable)

Understand SDLC, STLC, and Agile methodologies

Required Skills & Qualifications

Education

Pursuing or completed BE / BTech / BCA / MCA / MSc (IT/CS) or related field

Technical Skills

Basic understanding of software testing concepts

Knowledge of SDLC & STLC

Familiarity with web and mobile applications

Basic understanding of bug life cycle

Soft Skills

Strong attention to detail

Good analytical and problem-solving skills

Clear communication and documentation skills

Willingness to learn and take feedback

Preferred Skills (Good to Have)

Knowledge of tools like JIRA, Azure DevOps, TestRail, or Bugzilla

Basic understanding of SQL for data validation

Exposure to automation tools (Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, Postman)

Knowledge of API testing and REST concepts
