Software Engineering Manager

CommScope is looking to add a Sr Mgr, Software Engineering to our RUCKUS team based in Bengaluru.

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated software leader to join our team as a First Line Manager for the Access Point (AP) Infrastructure and Data Plane team. In this role, you will lead a team of engineers developing next-generation, carrier-grade, cloud-enabled wireless access points. Youll work on cutting-edge wireless services, protocols, and standards that power carrier, enterprise, and vertical networkshelping them stay ahead of the curve in high-bandwidth application demands.

How You'll Help Us Connect the World

Candidates having expertise in any two out of the following areas:

• Strong programming experience in embedded C, especially on resource-constrained platforms and real-time operating systems.
• Strong understanding of Linux kernel internals, including memory management, scheduling, and performance tuning.
• Proficient in kernel-level debugging and troubleshooting, including firmware-level analysis.
• Familiarity with frameworks such as OpenDP, DPDK, OpenFlow, and VPP is highly desirable.
• Solid understanding of MIPS, ARM, and x86 architectures and their software dependencies in Linux environments.
• Wi-Fi Access Point Dataplane Architecture: Deep understanding of L2/L3 packet forwarding, bridging, NAT, QoS, and WLAN datapaths across enterprise and carrier-grade APs.
• SoC SDK Integration: Hands-on experience integrating vendor SDKs (e.g., Qualcomm QSDK, Broadcom SDK) including driver bring-up, firmware integration.
• Linux Kernel Networking & Upgrades: Proficient in kernel module development, kernel version transitions and maintaining compatibility with vendor patches and custom networking stacks.
• Tunnel Offloading & Acceleration: Expertise in designing and implementing offload paths for encrypted overlay tunnels (e.g., vXLAN over IPsec, GRE), leveraging hardware accelerators or fast path engines (e.g., NSS, DPDK).
• Performance Optimization: Skilled in identifying and resolving throughput bottlenecks, interrupt mitigation, CPU/core affinity tuning, DMA optimization and fast-path implementation.
• Security Enhancements: Strong focus on secure tunnel management, IPsec optimizations, key handling, anti-replay protection and maintaining end-to-end encryption performance.

Required Qualifications for Consideration

• 10+ years of experience in data plane software development for wired or wireless platforms.
• 3+ years in technical leadership or engineering management roles.
• BTech/MTech or BS/MS in Computer Science or Electronics & Communication Engineering.
